SWBAT:
1...use NON-DESTRUCTIVE layer EDITING with ADJUSTMENT LAYERS.
2...use advanced LAYER PANEL SETTINGS to CONTROL which layers are EFFECTED by ADJUSTMENT layers
3...create UNITY and CONTRAST to make designs / lettering stand out or blend in more.
1. Position your BACKGROUND TEXTURE SHAPES / SILHOUETTES directly above your BACKGROUND TEXTURE.
2. Put your original TEXT layers in a FOLDER and turn it off.
3. Put original TEXTURE LAYERS in a FOLDER and turn it off
4. Name layers and folders as shown
5. Put turned layers and folders at the bottom of your layers palette.
1. Choose ONE COLOR from the color wheel.
2. Choose TWO OR MORE colors that are ANALOGOUS

1. Select the Background Texture layer in the layers panel
2. Create a HUE SATURATION ADJUSTMENT LAYER.
How to:
Click on the Black n White Cookie icon at the bottom of your layers panel.
Or go to the Layer menu at the top of your screen. Layer > Create New Adjustment Layer > Hue Saturation
3. Change the color of your background texture by adjusting the 3 sliders as desired.
CLICK to select "COLORIZE" and your layer will be MONOCHROMATIC
1. Select your texture shapes layer / folder in the layers panel.
2. Create a HUE SATURATION ADJUSTMENT LAYER.
How to:
Click on the Black n White Cookie icon at the bottom of your layers panel.
Or go to the Layer menu at the top of your screen. Layer > Create New Adjustment Layer > Hue Saturation
3. Apply a clipping mask by right clicking on the adjustment layer in the layers panel.
4. Change the color of your background texture shapes by adjusting the 3 sliders to make it unified with the background texture (analogous)
CLICK to select "COLORIZE" and your layer will be MONOCHROMATIC

2. Choose a color that will contrast most with your Background Texture and Texture Shapes
CONTRAST of COLOR is created with colors that are far away from each other on the Color Wheel. COMPLEMENTARY colors sit directly opposite each other so they create the most CONTRAST of COLOR.
Example: Yellow & Violet are complementary colors.(see left)
The word complimentary (with an "i" instead of an "e") means something different - FLATTERING or FREE

2. Create a HUE SATURATION ADJUSTMENT LAYER.

5. Edit the adjustment layers that you already created by double clicking on the adjustment layer icon in the layers panel.
