A caption is a title or brief explanation appended to an article, illustration, cartoon, or poster.
1. Choose an option that supports your Caricature illustration.
1. Select the Type tool and enter the following settings:
FONT..............Helvetica, Myriad, Arial or another sans serif font
CASE..............Sentence / Title
PT SIZE..........18 - 24 pt
COLOR............Black
ALIGNMENT....Center
2. Type in your caption and don't forget quotation marks for quotes and song titles!
1. View > Rulers (Command R)
2. Drag a vertical guide to the 3 3/4" mark on the horizontal ruler
3. Drag a horizontal gude to 9 1/2" mark on the vertical ruler
4. Position your with the text with the MOVE TOOL so that the bottom line of text touches the horizontal ruler and is centered on the vertical guide.
It can be close to the edge because later you will be adding a canvas border.
1. Read your caption carefully - check for mistakes
2. Copy and paste it into a Word doc to use Spell Check and Grammar Check
3. Ask your neighbor to read your text
4. Print it and show it to Ms. Hooker
1. Does your caption match your plans for your Caricature?
2. If you decide to make drastic changes, make a layer folder of your old work and let Ms. Hooker know.
By putting old work in a folder you can potentially earn extra credit!
