1. CIB refers to Classroom in a Book. The CIB books include project based activities for learning the different Adobe programs
2. Refer to lesson PDF even when participating in guided instruction.
3. Feel free to work independently from CIB Lesson but be sure to listen to classroom instruction.

1. Take advantage of guided instruction
1. CLICK on Adobe CIB AI CS6 Lesson 1 link and DOWNLOAD the 3 Files
1. Open a FINDER WINDOW by Clicking on FINDER FACE on DOCK at lower right.
2. Find and open the DOWNLOADS folder
3. Drag the files onto your DESKTOP
1. RIGHT-CLICK on closed file icon and choose RENAME from the drop down MENU
2. RENAME the files as directed below
3. Name the files Pumpkin 1/2/3 followed by ONE space, LAST NAME, FIRST NAME (dot) FILE EXTENSION
Examples:
Pumpkin 1 Hooker Martina.ai
Pumpkin 2 Hooker Martina.ai
Pumpkin 3 Hooker Martina.ai
A file extension consists of 2 - 4 letters at the end of a file name directly following a period.
Examples of file extensions are
.PS.
.JPG
.DOCX
A file extension indicates which program can be used to open / edit a file
1. Quit Illustrator by choosing Quit from the Illustrator Program Menu or by Right-Clicking on the Illustrator icon on your Dock.
2. Hold down 3 Keys with one hand:
Command, Option & Shift
3. Load Illustrator by clicking on the orange AI icon on your Dock.
1. Check the File Menu > Open Recent Files Option
2. If you deleted the settings successfully there will be no files listed.
1. Open Lesson PDF (see link left)
You can easily switch back and forth from the PDF to Illustrator by clicking on the icons on your dock.2. Start on Page 34, Step 2
3. Follow along with guided instruction.
4. Keep notebook out for higher level note taking
1. Confirm availability. Report to the Mac Lab
