BACK to Computer Design
SWBAT:
1...review learning about the art element VALUE
2...describe how to create CONTRAST with VALUE
3...create a CONTRAST of VALUE illustration
4...prepare for the last 3 color page illustrations
Contrast of Value is created by placing a very light tint next to a dark shade
Artists use Contrast of Value to make specific images/text stand out more.
Contrast of Value can create a dramatic effect.
1. You should have finished your color wheel and value scale illustrations by now.
2. If you need to catch up PLEASE complete this CONTRAST of VALUE illustration FIRST.
3. Catch up in class after the lesson or come to the Mac Lab during a free period
1. If you haven't already, GROUP your COLOR WHEEL drawing by SELECTING all the SHAPES. Next choose the GROUP option in the OBJECT MENU.
.2. Select, COPY & Paste your COLOR WHEEL
(Edit > Copy, Edit > Paste)
3. SCALE DOWN the COPY of your Color Wheel by clicking and dragging the CORNER tab towards the center while holding SHIFT.
1. Click on the teeny DEFAULT fill and stroke ICON on the TOOL BOX.
1. Copy and paste the GROUPED scaled down copy of your color wheel.
2. Make a new radial symmetry design for extra credit!
1. Use the DIRECT SELECTION Tool and hold down the SHIFT KEY to select multiple shapes in your GROUPED DRAWING
2. Use the EYEDROPPER to pull 2 contrasting VALUES from Ms. Hooker's Color Wheel (Use the same color) (See EXAMPLE on LEFT that shows a very light TINT of orange next to a very dark SHADE of orange)
3. Create the MOST contrast by using the LIGHTEST tint and the DARKEST shade of ONE COLOR
1. Don't forget to click on the CORNER TAB and hold down the SHIFT key so you can scale PROPORTIONATELY with out DISTORTING.
1. Come to the Mac Lab to make up work
