• Learn about linear perspective including

1-Point and 2-Point Perspective

• Create a 1-Point Perspective Study in pencil

• Add warm and cool colors with colored pencils

• Use complementary colors on shadows

2. Learn About 1 Point Perspective

3. Getting Started (May 21)

Be sure to use paper sized at 8.5" x 11" or larger and fill the paper with your drawing.

• Use at least two different sizes for your squares/rectangles.

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Two piece of paper sized at 8.5" x 11" or larger
Pencil & Eraser
Small 2" - 4" square/rectangular items for tracing like post-notes, make-up containers, misc containers, etc.
Ruler & Scissors maybe helpful

4. Drawing Forms (May 24 & 25)

For best results, go over your squares/rectangles first to make sure they are squared to the edges of the paper and that lines are crisp and straight . (If I had put more effort into that, my drawing above would have looked better)

5. Color Faces with Warm Analogous Blend and Complementary Shadow (May 26 & May 28)

Your final coloring should include some of your own color choices

STEP BY STEP

(ENL Students: Please translate as needed)

Choose a LIGHT looking WARM color from the color wheel (I chose YELLOW)
Color in the 6 FACES of your forms with it. Go over your coloring and make sure it's as OPAQUE as you can get it
Choose a 2nd WARM color that is ANALOGOUS to the warm color you chose in step 1 (I chose ORANGE)
Imagine the light source is coming from the upper left and GRADUALLY blend the 2nd color into the 1st color as shown left.
Choose a 3rd color for a SHADOW that is COMPLEMENTARY to one of your 2 analogous colors. (I chose BLUE)
GRADUALLY blend the 3rd color into the base colors starting from the lower right fading out before it hits the middle (see left)

Rubric

COMPLEMENTARY COLORS are pairs of colors that sit directly across from each other on the color wheel

6. Color Sides with Cool Analogous Blend and Complementary Shadow (June 1st & June 2)

Choose a LIGHT looking COOL color from the color wheel (I chose BLUE)
Color in the SIDES, TOPS & BOTTOMS of your forms with it. Go over your coloring and make sure it's as OPAQUE as you can get it
Choose a 2nd COOL color that is ANALOGOUS to the cool color you chose in step 1 (I chose VIOLET)
Imagine the light source is coming from the upper left and GRADUALLY blend the 2nd color into the 1st color as shown left.
Choose a 3rd color for a SHADOW that is COMPLEMENTARY to one of your 2 analogous cool colors. (I chose YELLOW)
GRADUALLY blend the 3rd color into your darker cool color (see right)
