SWBAT:
1...use basic computer concepts & skills like constraining, clicking & dragging, shift-clicking, copying & pasting, renaming files, file extensions, downloading, uploading, finder window, etc.
2...use basic Adobe skills like zooming, hidden tools, editing tool options, swatches
3...use skills specific to Adobe Illustrator like setting fill & stroke, shape tools, and advanced selection options
SWBAT:
1...use the Select Tool, Zoom Tool, and Shape Tools.
2...use the Shift Key and Shape Tools to draw perfect squares and circles.
3...use the Edit Menu to copy and paste selected shapes
4. use the View Menu shortcuts to Zoom in/out
1. CLICK on Every Shape.ai link to DOWNLOAD
1. Open a FINDER WINDOW by Clicking on FINDER FACE on DOCK at lower right.
2. Find and open the DOWNLOADS folder
3. Drag the file onto your DESKTOP
1. RIGHT-CLICK on closed file icon and choose RENAME from the drop down MENU
2. RENAME the file as directed below
3. Name all files the following way: PROJECT NAME (space) LAST NAME (space) FIRST NAME (dot) FILE EXTENSION
Example: Every Shape Martina.ai
A file extension consists of 2 - 4 letters at the end of a file name directly following a period.
Examples of file extensions are
.PS.
.JPG
.DOCX
A file extension indicates which program can be used to open / edit a file
1. Select the Zoom tool and click and drag over a small area.
2. Press your right thumb on the command key to the right of the space bar
3. Use your index fingers of the same hand to tap the 0, - , and + keys
Zoom Shortcuts:
• Command 0 (View > Fit Art Board in Window)
• Command - (View > Zoom Out)
• Command + (View > Zoom In)
1. Click on the DEFAULT fill and stroke icon at the bottom of your tool box to set it to the DEFAULT setting which is the WHITE FILL and BLACK STROKE
1. Select the Rectangle tool in the tool box
2. Hold the Shift key to constrain (lock) the proportions of height and width
3. Click and drag with the Rectangle tool
4. Let go of the mouse
5. Let go of the shift key last
6. Select the Ellipse Tool and repeat steps 2 - 5 to draw one perfect circle.
1. Use the select tool to select the circle
2. Go to the Edit Menu and choose Copy
3. Go to the Edit Menu and choose Paste
1. Check the dimensions of your square and circles by looking at the W and H measurements in the Control Bar at the top of your screen.
2. Show your work
FILL set to NONE
Default FILL and STROKE: White Fill, Black Stroke. Easy to select by clicking in the middle of shape.
Don't copy question. Write a sentence starter if you don't know answer. include the date.
