Whether a student decides to attend a college/university, attend a trade school, or enter the workforce, they will understand what ‘lifelong learning’ looks like for each of those pathways.

We will discuss how to create a useful cover letter to attach to your resume. Let's practice interviewing skills so your nerves are at ease. Finally, we examine the essential job skills you will see that you use in everyday life.
Activity 1:Students will review the slide show to access videos and useful links. Once the student appearance in the information about appealing cover lettersstudents will create their own.
Activity 2:students will watch the youtube video on interview skills, look at the link for a guide. Then, students will access the Google documenttitled Simulated Interview Questions and as a parent / guardian or relative to test their skills.
Activity 3:Students will review the slide show and go through the slide with a list of essential skills for the job; afterwards, students will think about what skills they use ineveryday life. Then create a one-page summary of what skills they useand how.

As time passes, and more responsibility is earned, the more attention you will have to pay to ensure you are able to enjoy the benefits that come along with living the life you want to live. Having good time management allows you to maintain order, feel more accomplished and become productive, each of which influence a successful balance of work and life. There will be learning opportunities along the way, but as you are able to work at and strengthen the skill of good time management you will ultimately be able to improve other aspects of your life.

Activity 2 - Budgeting for LifeUse a separate sheet of paper to brainstorm your current expenses, your saving and spending goals for the short term and long term future.

Additional Activity - How Do You Manage Your Time?Not everyone spends their time in the same manner. Responsibilities and priorities differ from one person to the next. With this in mind, think about how you manage your time throughout a 24 hour span.
Step 1:Consider the following categories:
  • Sleep
  • Creative Work &/ or Homework
  • Day Job &/ or School
  • Food/ Leisure (fun)
  • Exercise/ Meditation
  • Other (volunteer, service work, chores, etc.)

Step 2:From the categories above, determine how many hours you spend on each. (Use the activity sheet in Step 3)
Step 3:Use this activity sheet and fill in the blanks for each category and answer each question that follows:

Step 4:Explore "Podio's The Daily Routines of Creative Famous People" and compare your daily routines with the daily routines of famous, creative people.
Answer the questions that follow based on your findings.
