Activity 2: Networking for a JobOne of the best ways to find a job is through “networking” and using your “professional network”. Everyone has a professional network - you have one right now (!) which includes your friends, teachers, mentors, and people in your neighborhood. Reach out to these following people who has or had a job: a high school peer in the same grade, a high school junior or senior, and adult. Ask them 1) Where do they work and what do they do? 2) What are one or two things they’ve learned on their job? 3) How did they find their job and how can you apply?
Activity 3: Creating a ResumeEmployers want to see what experience you have so far, your school grades, and your after school club participation. They want someone who is willing to work hard and be a team player. You communicate this to people who want to hire you by creating and providing a resume!
