Urban Technology Project

The School District's Urban Technology Project (UTP) is currently recruiting High School Seniors for the I.T. Pre-Apprenticeship 2020/2021 program. Pre-Apprentices serve as AmeriCorps Digital Service Fellows, working alongside the Digital Literacy Teachers to support instruction and provide technical assistance. During their year of service within the school, Digital Service Fellows receive on-the-job experience, mentorship, technical and soft skills training, bi-weekly stipends, monthly trans-passes and a scholarship. For students who are looking for an alternative to college, apprenticeships are an effective career pathway that allows students to earn as they learn industry relevant skills that are in-demand, resulting in the average salary of $70K nationally and $45K locally. This is a great opportunity for graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in Information Technology. We are currently accepting applications through July 27th.
