Do Now - Artist Example
My daily 'do nows' are a great way to engage students with contemporary/historical art. It allows them to build a greater understanding of the "Art World" and their own place within it.
I simply post an artists name, the students then look them up, provide a simple outline of who they were and what they did, include an example of their work and a short 'critique' of their work.
I'll attach some examples and my master list of artist names. I make an effort to include a wide variety of artists from different cultural backgrounds. Sometimes I include a short youtube video about the artist.

Visual Art - Google Arts and Culture Exploration
Students will fill in the questions on the google doc while they explore artworks on Google Arts and Culture. This is a basic intro to looking at artworks on Google Arts and Culture, and will get students involved in basic descriptions analysis of artworks. I plan on using this as a first assignment and my next assignments will build on this.
