Activity 1- (1/2) Your task, uncover what WFH and FMLA stand for. - (2/2) Use the links provided to identify 3 companies that have maternity/paternity leave for employees.
Activity 2- Populate the chart on the next page, using the Google Form - share what activity you would complete during which time block.
Activity 3- Identify three types of jobs (some examples are included in the assignment) that you could successfully do from home with minimal disruption to your work schedule.- Once identified, write a description of the job’s function.

Student Instructions:An entrepreneur must have basic skills such as responsibility, time management, and money management.
The lesson and activities will help you navigate through those skills and engage in an activity to explore those skills.
Activity 1: Characteristics of an Entrepreneur*Create a T-Chart in your notebook or paper. Title one side “ What I know” and the other side “ What I learned”.*Then stop and think about what skills you already know and then write that on your chart.*Watch the Youtube video “Qualities of an Entrepreneur”.*Then during or after the video add to the other side of the chart of what you learned

Title: Creating a Business Plan

Student Instructions:Vision Statement Definition: A vision statement describes what you want to achieve in the future. ... It defines the optimal desired future state—the mental picture—of where you want to be over time, say in five, ten or more years. It inspires you to give your best and shapes your understanding of why you are doing what you do.
*Vision Statements serve as an opening or an introductionon your resume when applying for employment.
A career vision is a statement about what you want to achieve in your career -- the major accomplishments you hope to attain, the level or position you hope to rise to, and the lasting impacts you hope to make. A career vision statement is very much "big picture" thinking. Your life's vision defines who you want to be, what you want to be known for and the set of experiences and accomplishments you aim for. Your vision helps define the goals by giving you a framework to evaluate those goals.
For this lesson you will learn how to create a vision statement that speaks to what is important to you and how to utilize your values and strengths to plan for the future.
Activity 1:How to write a Vision Statement
  1. Your Vision Statement should be no more than 30-40 words or two to three sentences and contain power words that describe your goals. Choose words that people will remember.

  1. Create a list in the following areas write down things you are good at choose words that describe a measurable goal and look toward the future.

  1. Use your goal to say what your future will look like.

Additional Activities:Title: Creating a company logoInstructions: Think of logos that companies use, such as the Nike swoosh sign, the Ford logo, or the Apple computer logo. Why did these companies choose these kinds of logos? How do they represent their businesses most effectively? Design a logo for your business. You may draw something or create any digital image using Publisher, PhotoShop or any free online program. This symbol must represent your business effectively and give your customers a visual representation of your business. Design it carefully because it will appear on most of your company’s literature. The logo should be colorful and creative, but not necessarily complex. Keep it simple, crisp and catchy. Presentation is everything! Title: Funding a Business

Student Instructions:There are no limits on who can become a great entrepreneur. You don't necessarily need a college degree, a bunch of money in the bank or even business experience. However, you do need a strong plan and the drive to see it through. If you're an Entrepreneur, odds are you already have the drive, but you might not know how to start building your empire. This week’s task is all about the business!
Activity 1:Read the following article about Entrepreneurs starting a business and complete the attached assignment document.
Activity 2:Once you’ve grasped the Do’s and Don’ts of building your business, obtaining the capital (funding) to start it is Step 2. Watch the following video on Funding your business and make sure to take notes.
Activity 3:Understanding funding means understanding Currency, complete the following activity sheet (challenge yourself to see how many you can fill in without the internet’s help). Reach out to your classmates, teachers, and other school staff. Connect with your Networks!
