51020 ACTIVE LIFESTYLES 2

Length: 1 Semester

Credits: 1/2 credit

Prerequisite: The student must be Very confident and comfortable swimming in deep water and putting their face in the water.

Content: This course will emphasize multiple activities with an emphasis on physical and health literacy to include individual and team activities in small-sided game formats, adventure education, dance, swimming/water safety, introduction to strength and cardiovascular training, and health-related components related to assessing their personal health and attaining the goal of living a physically active lifestyle into adulthood.

Activities: Skill development/gameplay, strength and cardiovascular training, wall climbing, intermediate level swimming, fitness testing, and health-related concepts related to living a physically active lifestyle.

Cost: Heart Rate Strap $16. A conservative swimsuit (one-piece for girls and lined trunks for boys) is required.

Optional: Swim Goggles.
