Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Technology and Engineering Department to prepare NHS students for the future and to become productive members of society. Integration ofclassroom theory and practical work experience is paramount to the achievement of our mission. Students will have the opportunity to apply knowledge, skills, and conceptsobtained in core courses to solve authentic problems using current technology and hands-on skills. Career exploration activities integrate the state career cluster model withclassroom theory and practical work experience. We will continue to foster and support the creation of relationships between students, parents, community members,business, industry and labor, and professional organizations. The Technology and Engineering staf will strive to provide students with career options, a desire for learning,and help students create a vision for the future.
Project Lead the Way:
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national non-profit organization established to help schools give students the knowledge they need to excel in high-tech fields. Studies ofPLTW’s curriculum have proven that PLTW students become the kind of prepared, competent, high-tech employees U.S. industry needs to stay competitive in theglobal market. With its strong partnership concept, PLTW leverages the collective knowledge and efforts of secondary schools, colleges, and universities, and industry to givestudents rigorous, relevant, reality-based knowledge to better prepare them for college. Research shows, and continues to confirm, that students introduced to engineeringprinciples, concepts, and real-world problems in high school are better prepared for college engineering programs - and more likely to be successful in postsecondaryeducation. Furthermore, the PLTW program addresses national standards in Math, Science, Language Arts, and Technology as well as offering students COLLEGE CREDITat articulated institutions.

Mission Statement
To be the catalyst in the development of “school-to-career” automotive educational programs at the high school level on a nationwide basis, bringing together business and educational systems, providing a source of qualified entry-level technicians and other service personnel for dealerships.
To leverage all internal and external sources to improve the images of the automotive technician and the automotive industry as a whole, creating respect and esteem for the service field and its career path potentials. Through its employers and school partners, AYES strives to enhance the public image of the automotive industry and its careers, build local partnerships between employers and high-quality schools, and foster positive working environments in the automotive industry.
