Content: Students will learn the essential elements of welding and metal fabrication. Students will be exposed to six basic welding/cutting processes (ARC, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, Plasma Cutting and Oxy-Propylene cutting) and basic metal fabrication processes to include precision measurement, blueprint reading, layout, drilling, cutting, grinding, etc. Safe work habits and career exploration are also components of this course. Students will develop and utilize problem-solving skills and will recognize the importance of a strong work ethic in the modern workplace. Students will incorporate modern technology with traditional methods to produce metal products. Students will design and fabricate products individually and as part of a team.
Cost: There will be a $30 cost for materials required for projects retained by the student.
