Course Content: Ceramics 2 is for the very serious ceramics student. It provides advanced studio experience in the design and production of hand-built and wheel-thrown ceramics, functional pieces as well as sculptural forms. Experiences will include specialized glazing techniques. Students will also explore careers in ceramics. A research paper may be required.
Course Activities: Studio artwork. Students will be involved in the whole process of mixing clay to firing the kilns. A possible field trip or clay exhibit may be a part of the experience.
Student Cost: a lab fee of $20 covers clay, glazes and a possible field trip.
