The Elective Program is a required 1.0 credit (two classes) to be taken after completion of Active Lifestyles (51010 or 51020). Students may select from numerous courses listed. The activities in the curriculum are geared toward health-related fitness (cardiovascular, body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility),functional training, and lifetime activities that incorporate various degrees of physical fitness inherent in the curriculum itself. The courses offered are equally valuable to all students, regardless of their vocational or educational goals. Students are encouraged to take more than the required 1.5 graduation requirement to maintain a healthy active lifestyle. An additional .5 credit may be earned toward graduation with a maximum of 2 credits earned in grades 9-12 counting toward graduation.
