Students applying for the ARETE program in 2020-2021 should choose courses as follows:

English: Speech and English 10

Math: Appropriate Individual level

Science: Biology or Adv. Biology

Social Studies: Exploring Your Wisconsin History & Government and Personal Financial Literacy

Have you ever played the role of Gandhi in a debate against William Shakespeare over many mind-bending topics? Has your education allowed you to make a difference in the community? In the Arête Academy, opportunities like these exist every day. The Arête Academy is more than just math, science, English, or social studies classes, it is a family of peers that work together to accomplish incredible goals. When students are presented with a problem by administrators, teachers, or community members, they use creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and classroom learning to solve the problem. While the projects generally focus on answering a guiding question or topic, students have no limits to show off what they have learned. Whether it be writing a novel or building a greenhouse, personal skills and passions come alive every day.
