Prerequisite: Earn a grade of A in Art Metals and Sculpture II; teacher or department chair recommendation.
Note: Students enrolling in this AP® class will automatically be registered for that course's portfolio.
Course Content: AP® Studio Art is intended for highly motivated students who are extremely interested in the study of art in and beyond high school and who wish to receive an Advanced Placement® evaluation of their work. This two-semester college-level course will provide the serious art student an opportunity to prepare three-dimensional studio art and prepare an AP® portfolio which is submitted for AP® Review in May. It is recommended that art students take Professional Portfolio Preparation as well as complete the work essential to present their portfolio. Every six weeks, students will prepare digital images of work done during that period of time. Critiques will be held weekly.
Course Activities: Studio artwork specifically to fulfill AP® requirements, digital preparation, critiques, portfolio review, and field trips as appropriate.
