Content: This course provides students, considering teaching as a future career, an opportunity to explore the profession and the foundations of the American educational system. Students will study both the historical and philosophical influences on current educational systems and practices. Additionally, students will experience an authentic glimpse into a typical classroom through observations within the district.
Activities: Students will observe within a district classroom twice a week for the majority of the semester. They will then reflect on and share discoveries made from these observations. Students will also move beyond studying to practicing effective teaching practices through developing and facilitating lessons.
Cost: A university fee if taken for UW Oshkosh CAPP.
