Prerequisite: Students should be able to read and comprehend college-level texts and should possess basic math and graphing skills.
Credits: 1/2 credit Social Studies (Personal Financial Literacy graduation requirement)
NOTE: This course is only offered in Even-Odd school years.
NOTE: Students enrolling in an AP® class will automatically be registered for that course's exam. An exam Opt-Out option is available.
Content: This intensive course is designed to study the aggregate behavior of the economy of the United States. Subjects to be covered include the Great Depression, guided capitalism, the business cycle, aggregate supply and demand, fiscal and monetary policy, economic growth and international economics. This college-level course is designed to help the learner make wise spending, saving and credit decisions in order to make effective use of income to achieve personal financial success. This course prepares the student to take the AP® Macroeconomics exam and potentially earn college credit. This course also satisfies the .5 Personal Financial Literacy credit.

Cost: An exam fee if AP® exam is taken.
