Content: This is a comprehensive, non-calculus-based physics class suitable for all persons planning a career in science or wishing to further develop abstract thinking skills. Algebra-based mathematics is used to describe kinematics, dynamics, uniform circular motion and electricity. The course has a large laboratory/demonstration component and features computer-integrated data gathering and analysis activities. There is also some project construction, testing, and competition. Curricular materials are chosen to support many (not all) of the objectives for the Physics 1 AP® exam administered in early May.
Activities: Lab activities, problem-solving, discussions.
