Jeremy Zucker’s “Come Thru” is a rhythmic masterpiece. Even though it’s old I believe that it somehow still correlates to how teens are feeling today. It gives a very relatable feel and has lyrics teens can connect with. It needs more attention because of its engaging lyrics. Zucker has a chorus that will immediately hook you, “I’m shaking, drinking all this coffee, these last few weeks have been exhausting”. These lyrics instantly give you a homey and warm feeling that people who feel stressed or need calm energy can correspond with.

“I felt like I needed someone to be around to lift my spirits and live life differently”, stated Zucker.

Many music fans can sympathize with this now more than ever because of quarantine, social distancing, and having to learn to socialize again. Zucker’s lyrics are very linguistic and have very deep meanings. Which is always up for interpretation, especially for this generation. Although the song isn’t anything new because it’s indie pop, and we’ve heard songs like this before, Zucker himself is just a person to whom everyone relates. There is nothing wrong with a song that sounds like every other song- but sometimes very generic indie pop songs can be deserving of attention. That's “come through”.

The song says things like “I’m trying to realize, it’s alright to not be fine on your own”, which normalizes the fact that the feeling of loneliness is okay sometimes and isolation isn’t for everyone.

The calm before the storm is the rising melody before the chorus- at least that's how I hear it. The industry in this day and age finds a way to popularize a snippet of a song in order to force everyone to learn it before they hear the actual song. So listening to it for the first time, you already know what you are getting into. It's a pleasant surprise when you enjoy a song you didn't know you were listening to.
