A Car Going Nowhere offer hope and inspiration

A Car Going Nowhere, released in 2018 on December second, sung and produced by ESAE, is about growing up and desiring to run away to any place without giving up on hopes and dreams.

The song starts off with a phone call, and a girl telling her mother that she’s doing okay and that she loves her. The lyrics and melody are saddening as the song begins with words getting caught up in our throats and being unable to breathe from it, and to sing like others are listening.

Already, we figure this song is partially about a saddening experience that most civilians have experienced. As the lyrics continue, we’re hearing the singer mention the need to experience something recklessly new, along with wanting to be driven to a far place and not caring where the place is. 

The singer being able to express her feelings through the lyrics are remarkable as she continues to sing on. Whilst the lyrics continue, we hear the lyrics mentioning never catching up with the horizon, and no crashing the car as the singer would be asleep and dreaming of what she will be.

We’re able to hear the lyrics being sung with strong feelings as the song continues to express the singer's emotions. A part of the lyrics tell the listeners about having a load of dreams and a pocket full of hopes, and the singer having tons of songs to write and sing while mentioning that having us by their side allows them to know that she will be alright.

At the end of the song, we hear another phone call as the singer tells their mother that she made it to where she wanted to be, and that it’s still rainy where she is. The overall song is a folk genre which tells a story about a time in life where the singer wanted to go to a place far away.
