13-year-old in critical condition following Hazelwood shooting

A 13-year-old boy was shot and left in critical condition in the Hazelwood neighborhood, between Division and Mill. 

East Precinct officers were called on to the scene on March 8 at 3:56 p.m. The officers found a young wounded male. The juvenile victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics and remains listed in critical condition. The 13-year-old was not identified by the Portland Police. The suspect fled the scene before the police’s arrival and has yet to be located. According to the Portland Police Bureau, no arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released. Detectives associated with The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST), are actively investigating the crime.

The shooting occurred in a busy area of SE Portland which raises the possibilities of witnesses.
