Students will able to Chassé their way to the winter Scottish Tams dance try-outs.

The Tams are looking for interested students to join the team. The dance team is a good way for students to get out of their comfort zones, make new friends and take in new skills.

“You do not need previous dance experience, everyone can move and everyone is coachable,” coach Lucia Garcia said.

Try-outs will be held in the South gym on Tuesday Nov. 8th and Wednesday Nov. 9th. The students will not have to have routine prepared before hand. Students will learn a short routine on day one then try-out in small groups on day two. Students will be judge by coach Garcia and the rest of the coaching staff as well as a special guest judge. Students will need to register online for dance like any other sport.

Registration is all done online. Students can go into the Athletic Portal through the school website and also create an Athletic Portal account if haven’t already. Athletes must upload a recent physical form to be cleared to try-out. Students and guardians are able to schedule a physical appointment at the health clinic. This must be done before try-outs.

“We always have kids who show up on the day of and we cannot allow them to participate because they are not cleared through the athletic office,” said coach Garcia.
