Editor's 'Mama KK' under-rated Country singer

Kae's album was released by 1999 Nashville Rose Records. She didn't write any of the songs they, were written by writers in Nashville but she did an amazing job performing them.  Images courtesy Kae Lynette.

Having an underrated artist as a grandma is a unique experience. She doesn't have a ton of followers but she has performed in Nashville and been to many competitions.

My grandma, Kae Lynette, never uploaded any of her recorded songs to any streaming platform but one day we found all her music was uploaded on youtube, Spotify, and many other platforms.

When I was a child she owned a couple of bars in Portland and she would perform there. I remember helping her get the bars set up for karaoke nights.

I would always look up to her as a role model. I have never understood why she never took off the way she deserves. I hope she gets to see her music take off.

She performed in the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in 1996. Which is known for being where country music was formed in 1925.

It's crazy to think that my grandma has performed on the same stage that people like Reba, Dolly, and Carrie Underwood have performed on. She performed there in a singing contest and got 19th out of 200 singers. She performed there a second time later for the opening act to that same competition.

Growing up my grandma would sing for me and I could have sworn her voice came straight from an angel. She would sing some of her songs or “You are my sunshine” She has been one of my closest friends for as long as I can remember.

I am more than proud to call her my grandma and role model.
