Graduation rates have proven to be rising in the past years and Black, Latino and students with disabilities take up a big part of that percent.

According to The Oregonian 76% of graduation rates include Black students, nearly 80% of Latino students and around 60% for students with different disabilities. These improvements have been regarded towards the increase in student friendly organizations that can provide them with the extra help they might need to succeed. Organizations such as Latino Network, Self Enhancement Inc and others. Not only that but teachers and students cooperation shows success in their education system.

During the pandemic, schools went into online learning, which some consider might have had a role in the higher graduation rates due to teachers and schools in general lowering requirements. It has although been reported that students during online learning had lower grades and lower averages in general. Some argue online school is better for some students as it can help those who struggle to keep up with the class. It helps students have more time to review past material, they are able to have their own space and don’t have the common issue of being too exhausted or hungry during classes due to having to wake up earlier.

Higher graduation rates  are good news to anyone, in Oregon the percentage of High School graduates that go to college is at 47.8%.
