The Windsor Locks Public Schools offer a range of evaluation services to students to help determine if a need for special education and/or service is indicated. These services include evaluations in the area of speech and language development, learning disabilities, psychological functioning, individual reading and intellectual capacities. Evaluation services performed by the school system/CSSC or by an agency or professional consultant at the request of the school system are carried out without charge to parents.

In certain situations, parents may want an evaluation done outside the school system, such evaluation(s) in addition to those performed by or for the Windsor Locks Public Schools/Cooperative Special Services Center. Parents of guardians may have such evaluations performed outside the system at their own discretion and at their own expense.

When the school system is requested to pay for an outside evaluation, the request for the evaluation must be addressed to the PPT. Consideration will be given the request by the PPT with the following conditions met and procedures followed:
