By State Board of Education policy it is the responsibility of each Vocational-Technical School to offer a presentation to all eighth grade students within its region, describing the career, vocational, and educational programs available to them at their Regional Vocational-Technical School. It is the responsibility of each local Board of Education to provide the opportunity for such a presentation to be made to eighth grade students. Accordingly, the Windsor Locks Board of Education annually provides an opportunity for students to learn of the opportunity to attend a regional vocationaltechnical school.

Each eighth grade student shall be provided with information necessary to make an informed education decision regarding enrollment in a vocational-technical high school. Opportunity shall be provided for representatives of the vocational-technical school system to make informative presentations to each eighth grader.

The Windsor Locks Public Schools shall provide support and information to help interested students make such career decisions. The Board believes that career decisions should involve parents as well as students. Where the Regional Vocational-Technical Schools make literature available for distribution to students, the Windsor Locks Public Schools shall cooperate and support this endeavor by disseminating such information to students and their parents. In addition, parents shall be notified of and invited to such presentations.
