habitat and diet

Habitat

• annual average rainfall of less than 10 inches in  Central Australia

• Mulga and spinifex are the most common plants 

• They share there habitat with snakes, lizards and small mammals like rodents and marsupials

• average temperatures ranging from 80-100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit at night

• Characterized as flat and arid terrain, with sandy or stony soils, low shrubs and grasses 

Diet

• They can go several months without eating, when they do eat they can eat 10 or more small mammals in a single meal

• Hunt by searching on the ground, use sense of smell to locate and strike and inject venom to kill

• They don't have any special foods but will eat reptiles and birds if available
