Hippos lay in short grasses and enjoy plants like Cynodon, Panicum, Heteropogon, Sporobolus, Themeda, Cynodon, Digitaria, Eriochloa, Tragus, Brachiaria, Urochloa, Chloris, Setaria, and Cyperus. Other animals that are found in the common hippos habitat are lions, hyenas, crocodiles, leopards, fish, and other small water dwelling organisms. They prefer their habitats water temperature to be 64° to 95° Fahrenheit. Hippos terrains are waterways such as rivers, lakes, and mangroves.
