Diet
Shoebill storks will primarily eat fish, having a preference for lungfish, but will also prey on things like frogs, water snakes, and even baby crocodiles. When shoebills hunt they tend to stay motionless for hours as they wait for prey to come up, and when they do, shoebills will use the sharp hook ended beak of theirs to grab and kill prey. Distribution and habitat
Shoebill storks are endemic to africa. They are found mainly in the east central part and the wetlands. Shoebills are not invasive and are actually considered vulnerable on the IUCN status. In this region it gets around 1,600mm of rain annually. The terrain in this area are full of plateaus and savannah like terrain but can also contain hills and elevations. This area however also consists of the wetlands full of plenty of life. Some plants that reside in this area are the Ashoka tree, Bougainvillea, Allamander, Hibiscus, Melalueca, Prickly pear, and the Eucalyptus. Africa is full of life and animals but some of the animals you can find there are the cheetah, black rhino, giraffe, kudu, impala, lemur, elephant, porcupines, and crocodiles.
