Bobcat Diet

Diet: Bobcats are carnivorous, meaning they eat primarily meat. Specifically, Bobcats primarily eat rabbits, hares, squirrels and other small rodents, and occasionally a small deer.

How often do Bobcats need to eat? Bobcats eat everyday, but they only need 2 to 3 pounds of meat per day. 

How do Bobcats hunt? Bobcats are crepuscular, meaning they prefer to hunt at dusk and dawn. Bobcats are very patient hunters, often stalking their prey for 2 to 7 miles. They attack their prey swiftly, capable of running up to 30 miles hour. 

Special food: Bobcats prefer fresh meat, but they will eat carrion if the opportunity arises. 

Bobcats are apex predators and eat a variety of prey animals.
