Diet

The frilled shark eats a diet of cephalopods, sea slugs, smaller sharks, and boney fish. Boney fish indicate that the frilled shark participates in Diurnal Vertical migration. This means the sharks come up in a shiver at night to feed, and going back down at dawn. The frilled shark gets its food by curving its body and bracing the back fins against the water to gain leverage for a rapid strike.
