Description
Physical description- they are large, heavily built mammal that can weigh up to 4,440 pounds. They have skin that is grey-brown in color and covered in wart-like bumps, their skin is thicker than any other rhinoceros.
Key characteristics- the indian rhino has one horn and thick,grey brown hide with skin folds, which gives it an armored appearance, it also has a distinctive,flat-topped head and a short, curved tail.
Size- the indian rhino can grow up to 6 feet tall at the shoulder.
Weight- indian rhinos can weigh up to 5 tons
Life span-the average lifespan of an Indian rhino is around 35-40 years in the wild.
Differences between males and females- Male indain rhinos are generally larger than females, and they have longer thicker horns, while the females are generally smaller than males and have shorter thiner horns. Females also have fewer skin folds on their neck and shoulders.
