Causes of death

Causes of death for a frilled shark are other sharks, humans, and parasites. It is believed that other sharks may prey on frilled sharks for food. Humans are also a cause of death to frilled sharks because of fishing. Frilled sharks can be caught in fishing nets 5,150 ft or above.
