Hippos live in groups of 10-30 hippos. They use their faeces to bring nutrience to the soil and waters, and they graze the grass so it grows the way they want. The male hippos lead the group. There are several males amd females in the group of hippos but there is one male dominant hippo of the group. The dominat male has the right to mate with all females. The common hippos use sound and body language to interact with eachother. The hippos honk and the honk can be heard from a mile away.
