Threats

Habitat Degredation and River Contamination (due to mining and agriculture) are the main threats to River Otters from humans.

Bobcats, Alligators, Coyotes, and Raptors are all predators of River Otters

River Otters use intimidation to keep away smaller predators and its agility keeps it safe from the larger ones. It can also use its large teeth to defend itself and will produce a loud snorting sound to alert other River Otters nearby to the danger
