Sonic & Shadow

Bio: Sonic the Hedgehog, the self-proclaimed "fastest thing alive", was resting up after his most recent victory against the notorious Dr. Eggman. But while he was busy lazing around and basically doing nothing, he was informed by his best friend Tails about a situation going on. A strange portal had appeared in Green Hill Zone and it seemed to be pulsing with energy. Thinking that exploring what was beyond the portal could be fun, Sonic dashed out the door in a blue flash. When he arrived, he was greeted by Shadow the Hedgehog, the so-called "Ultimate Life Form". Shadow was informed that the GUN agency wanted him to explore this strange portal and report back what he found. With the two speedy hedgehogs agreeing to work together to uncover this mystery, Sonic and Shadow made their way into the portal, appearing on the other side in the world of DEATH BATTLE

Intro: Sonic zooms repeatedly back and forth before stopping and giving a thumbs up. "Let's have some fun, alright?" Shadow then dashes in before skidding to a stop, glaring at the opponent and saying "This'll be quicker if you just give up"

SONIC...

Playstyle

Sonic is a speed-blitzing character, relying on his fast movement and rapid-fire attacks to bludgeon enemies into submission. While he uses his speed to make up for lack of attack range, he does lack stamina and his strength is pretty low.

Moveset...

-Spindash: Sonic turns into a spinning, blue wheel and rolls at the enemy. This attack can be charged by repeatedly pressing the attack button repeatedly.

-Homing Attack: Sonic jumps in the air, curled into a ball, then rockets at the enemy like a blue cannonball. Useful for anti-air tactics and for crossing distances.

-Light Dash: Sonic runs forward or backward, leaving behind a blue light trail. Useful for crossing distances and can phase through projectile attacks with correct timing.

-Blue Bounce: Sonic curls into a ball and spins similar to his Spin Dash, but rather than roll forward, Sonic will bounce into the air like a ball. He can either go straight up, go forward in an arc, or launch himself backward to bounce off the wall and launch himself at his enemy from there.

-Rolling Counter: Sonic will dodge any attacks thrown at him by rolling backwards before sending a flying kick at his opponent. While the counter itself isn't very strong, it's still a great way of getting rid of hyper-aggressive opponents

SUPER MOVE: Sonic Boom

-Sonic runs forward and, should he come into contact with the enemy, he will dash right through them, striking them in the process. He will dash through them multiple times afterward, the opponent unable to react. An axe-kick sends his opponent facedown on the ground, where Sonic uses Spindash on top of them, hitting them repeatedly, then hops off.

SHADOW...

Playstyle

Shadow is similar in speed to Sonic, but has the option to use ranged attacks and is slightly stronger. His ranged attacks require some charge time, though, and he's about one step behind Sonic in terms of speed.

Moveset...

-Chaos Control: Shadow vanishes in a flash of green light, reappearing in another part of the stage as designated by the button pushed.

-Chaos Spear: Shadow fires a spear of chaos energy

-Chaotic Spindash: Shadow spins similarly to Sonic's own Spin Dash, gathers chaos energy around himself, then launches himself forward.

-Chaos Nightmare: Shadow snaps his fingers as a series of energy spheres encircle his body before firing outward.

-Shadow Dash: Similar to Sonic's Light Dash, Shadow will boost himself forward or backward with his rocket boots. However, while not going as far as Sonic's attacks, or his own Chaos Control, it can also reflect projectiles away from him if they hit him.

SUPER MOVE: Chaos Blast

-Shadow swings at the opponent, and if he hits, he will give two more swings that send the opponent backward. He will then jump into the air and begin glowing red as he creates a powerful explosion around himself.

TEAM ATTACK: Super Rush

-The Seven Chaos Emeralds briefly encircle the two hedgehogs and unite with them, transforming Sonic and Shadow into their Super Forms. The two then rush at the enemy in the forms of two spheres of energy, one leaving behind a blue trail, the other a red. Sonic dashes through the enemy multiple times, then gives the thumbs-up signal to Shadow, who is revealed to have been overhead this whole time, charging energy. Shadow charges, hits, then emits an explosion of golden energy. When the explosion clears, Sonic and Shadow have reverted back to their original forms.

Rival Cutscene...

(Sonic and Shadow are blazing through a grassy field, grass blades popping up in their wake as they leave dust behind them. The two cross past a tree before they slow down)

Sonic: Well, looks like I won that race

Shadow: Hmph, figured you'd think that

Sonic: Oh come on, Shadow. Don't tell me you thought you won

Shadow: I don't think I won, I know I did. You were just eating my dust the whole way through

Sonic: Hah! You're just jealous because you know I'm faster

Shadow: Jealous of you? I'm the ultimate life form. What do I have to be jealous of?

Sonic: Alright, whatever helps you sleep better at night. Either way, I'm itching for a fight. Let's see if there's anyone around

Shadow: You know, all this trash talk from you puts me in the mood for a fight too.

(The two looked around and saw two similarly-dressed fighters walking through the field a good distance away from them)

Sonic: Hey, it's the Mario Bros! Man, didn't think they make here!

Shadow: The plumbers? You want to fight them? I guess some fat plumbers would be a breather fight after all defeating these other wimps

Sonic: Don't underestimate them, Shadow. They may not look like it, but those two can fight.

Shadow: Really? Well let's just see, shall we.

(Sonic and Shadow nodded to each other before dashing off to face their next opponent)

Ending Cutscene...

With their superior speed making them more than a match for their opponents, Sonic and Shadow easily beat their competition. Upon returning home, the two were greeted by their friends as they were able to celebrate victory. Shadow, while not exactly the most social guy in the world, was willing to attend the festivities. It ended with a rematch of the race they had in the world of Death Battle. Only this time, there would be witnesses to settle this speed debate once and for all.
