Bio: Born from a hanged corpse, Guts spent the majority of his life in a world of constant violence until he joined the mercenary group known as the Band of Hawk. Befriending the leader, Griffith, and falling in love with his second-in-command, Casca, it was the first time he knew true camaraderie. That all ended when an event called "The Eclipse" transported the entire Band of Hawk to a hellish realm of darkness where Griffith became a demon lord and traumatized Casca into a childlike mindset. Guts and Casca were the only survivors, but were branded to be tormented by demons and ghosts. Guts has since sworn revenge on Griffith and to cure both Casca and himself, taking sword in hand and struggling against his own inner beast.
Costume 1: Current Armor with white streak in his hair
Costume 2: Retribution Saga appearance
Costume 3: Band of Hawk armor with helmet
Costume 4: Skull Knight's Berserker Armor
Costume 5: Shirtless Guts
Voice Actor: Marc Diraison
Special Attacks:
-Prosthetic Arsenal: Guts puts forward his metal arm and uses one of three weapons available.
*Crossbow: Fires five arrows in rapid succession
*Cannonball: Fires a powerful cannonball that can knock the enemy back
*Flamethrower: Shoots a stream of fire that ignites the foe, causing them to pause as they writhe in the flames
-Dragonkiller: Guts swings the Dragonslayer in a series of upward-aiming, close-range slashes. He will finish the combo with a downward chop.
-Flat to the Wall: Guts performs a powerful backhand swing with the Dragonslayer, using the flat of his blade. If it connects properly, it can wallbounce an opponent and allow Guts to combo-up easier.
-Armor-Piercer: Guts rushes forward a short distance, sword pointing forward to stab an opponent and push them back. Useful for crossing distances, but very punishable if blocked.
-Great Stake: Guts raises the Dragonslayer high over his head, then brings it stabbing into the ground. While a powerful close-range attack (especially to knocked-downed opponents), the move is also useful for blocking against projectiles.
Throws
FORWARD: Guts punches the opponent in the face with his prosthetic, then uses the flat of Dragonslayer to send them flying away.
BACKWARD: Guts rams the pommel of the Dragonslayer, then moves behind the opponent and slashes them in the back.
Super Moves
-Berserk Fire: Guts lights his Dragonslayer on fire, then swings in a 7-strike combo attack and advances with each step. He finishes with a downward-chop that creates a small wave of fire.
-Berserker Armor: Guts roars in fury as he becomes engulfed in black armor, with a helmet resembling a hellhound's head. In this state, Guts' attacks will become faster and stronger, his combos will deliver more hits, and he will be unable to flinch from weaker attacks or suffer knockback. This comes at a severe cost, though. The form is not only temporary, lasting only a few seconds, but he will rapidly lose health the longer he stays in this form.
-Blood-Tempered Blade: Guts delivers a powerful overhand chop. Should this chop connect properly, he will strike the opponent with an upward-diagonal slash, a horizontal backhand slash, and then thrust the tip of the blade into their midsection. The opponent still impaled, he will slam them to the ground behind him, then use the sword to toss them into the air, jump, and spin like a wheel to send them flying away. FATALITIES:
-Berserk Hound: With a roar, the Berserker Armor fixes itself on Guts' body. Forgetting about his sword completely, the now-berserk Guts rushes at the opponent and grabs their head, plunging his armor-plated thumbs into their eye sockets and gouging their eyes out. With another roar, he pries the opponent's skull in half, then pulls the two halves free of their neck. The opponent falls over as Guts roars in victory, holding both halves of the severed head up like trophies.
-Boom! Headshot: Guts uses the Dragonslayer to cut the opponent in half at the waist. The opponent falls on their face and tries crawling away, leaving a trail of blood and organs and fall down. Using his foot, Guts tilts their head up to look at him...and they're met with the barrel of his arm-cannon, which they react to with horror. One blast reduces the opponent's head to a splattered mess.
Intro: Guts strides forth and casts back his black cape, takes the handle of the Dragonslayer, and hefts it off his back to point forward.
Outro: Guts swings down with the Dragonslayer with enough force to crack the ground, then hefts it over his shoulder and casts a fearsome glance at the camera.

Prologue: Guts had led a long life filled with violence, and has left a legacy written in the blood of man, beast, and demon alike. Amidst his journeys to lift the curse put upon him and his love, a portal of crackling energy popped into existence before him and drew him in with a strange, gravity-like pull. Guts resisted, but ultimately succumbed and found himself in a world he did not recognize. It wasn't evil in nature, like the time of the Eclipse, but Guts believed it wise to keep his guard until he found answers about where he was and what there was to gain from it.
Rival Cutscene:
(Guts is walking down a dark, torch-lit hall, his armored greaves clanking down the hall. He has obviously been through a lot already, but is not about to show pain, discomfort, or wear.)
Guts: (thinking) Wherever the hell I am, I'm not about to let it get to me. (staggers slightly from a possible wound in his side) Damn-NO! I'm not giving up, especially not here.
(Guts pushes himself to his feet, then continues until he passes a threshold into a pitch-dark room. The torches behind him suddenly extinguish, much to his surprise, and a voice echoes out from the darkness.)
???: We meet again, Black Swordsman. So glad you could carve out some time for both of us.
(Guts recognizes the voice, his flesh hand reaching up to grip the hilt of the Dragonslayer.)
???: Such unbridled fury...such hatred...and the smell of blood, both human and demon, hangs thick in the air around you. It's all overwhelming, really.
Guts: Shut up and show yourself already if it's a fight you want!
???: Ah...and still quite a bloodthirsty beast. It's good to know that some things have not changed. (brief pause) Regardless...I shall grant you what you desire, berserker. Your soul is MINE!
(Guts whirls around, the Dragonslayer swinging free of his back, and meets the oncoming strike of a heavy object. From the darkness, he can make out a glowing spheroid the color of fire, as well as a pair of bright-red eyes. The room suddenly lights itself as a series of torches across the room suddenly light up, revealing the object to be a massive, demonic sword and its owner to be an azure knight with a demonic right hand--Nightmare.)
Guts: (straining against Nightmare...then smiles) And here I was thinking I had something to worry about.
(Both separate, then clash in a fast array of swings with their massive zweihanders, unleashing a series of deafening clangs and showers of sparks with each blow. Both lock blades again, then step back to put distance between them.)
Nightmare: Your desire to win is as impressive as I remember! With your body and the will of Soul Edge, you could be unstoppable! Why deny its will in favor of your own broken body and savage soul?
Guts: I've had other promise the same thing...and they can all go to hell for their shallow promises!
Nightmare: Such arrogance and stubbornness. I will have to remedy that when I claim your soul.
(Both charge, swords ready for the kill before the screen fades to black.)
Ending: In spite of his victories and the bloodied corpses of his victims, Guts feels no closer to finding the cure for him and Casca or to finding a means to kill Griffith. He returned home, still confused and still lost, going back to the only life he had left--those among the few true friends he had. Guts knew that the answer would ultimately not wait for him, and that he would either meet happiness when it was all over, or he would die trying to find it. Either way, he would be satisfied.
