Bio: The last surviving member of the Echidna race, Knuckles was born and raised to protect Angel Island's greatest treasure--the Master Emerald, which can negate the effects of the Chaos Emeralds. This has led him to, frequently, getting duped by Dr. Eggman and butting heads with Sonic the Hedgehog himself. When on the right side, though, he can become quite the asset for his amazing strength, agility, and combat ability.

Special Attacks:

-Fire Fist: Knuckles throws a punch where his fist is laced in fire. Comes in three variations that can be combined for two-hit combos.

LIGHT: Haymaker that sends Knuckles forward

MEDI: Uppercut that sends him up at a slight angle

HEAVY: Jumps in the air and slams his fist to the ground, creating a flaming shockwave (shoots straight down if he's in midair)

-Shovel Claws: Knuckles tunnels underground and will reappear at a spot on the field (his version of a teleport), rising from the ground and uppercutting any opponent who might be standing on the spot.

-Pulverizer: By repeatedly mashing an attack button, Knuckles will unleash a flurry of punches, the duration depending on the button used.

-Drill Dive: Knuckles flies forward, fists outstretched and body spiraling like a drill. Will hit multiple times on impact and is useful for crossing distances.

-Glide Punch: In midair, Knuckles will glide with his fists outstretched. Anything in his way will be hit and, if he comes to the wall, he has the option to cling to it, climb up it, and spring off to glide the other way. Cannot be spammed.

Throws

FORWARD: Knuckles repeatedly punches the opponent in the gut, then grabs them by the ankle and flips them backward.

BACKWARD: Knuckles hops onto the opponent, getting in their face, then punches them repeatedly in the face before hopping behind them as they collapse.

Super Moves:

-Volcanic Strike: Knuckles holds up a fiery fist and punches the ground hard, splitting the ground on impact. Lava bursts into the air and falls down from the sky in the form of multiple balls of molten rock, causing multiple hits that inflict fire damage.

-Mole-Verizer: Knuckles tunnels underground, then shoots up from below the opponent's feet to uppercut them, falling back under ground and repeating the process 5 times before returning to the battlefield.

-Fists of Fury: Knuckles will rush at the opponent with a single punch that, should it land, will result in him standing over the opponent and repeatedly punching them, cracking the ground with each hit. With one final punch, Knuckles creates a broad shockwave of fire that causes massive damage.

FATALITIES:

-Boulder Shot: Knuckles punches the ground, then heaves out a giant boulder, which he punches into the air, splitting it into pieces. When the pieces come down, he punches them at the opponent, turning them into makeshift cannonballs that punch big holes in the opponent's chest and stomach. One even takes off their arm while another still takes off their head, causing them to topple over.

-One-Two Punch: Knuckles sucker-punches the opponent in the gut so hard that it leaves a bloody cavity. As they lean over in pain, trying to keep their entrails inside, he pulls the fist out of the hole and plants a haymaker into their face, causing it to cave in and letting them fall on their face.

Intro: Knuckles springs out of the ground, touches down, then throws a few fast-paced air-punches, showing he's ready for battle.

Outro: Knuckles takes a few victory swipes, then a shoryuken-style uppercut before landing on the ground, pumping a fist, and sporting a proud grin.

Prologue: Once again tending to his sworn duties as the guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles had quite the easy and quiet life. When he sensed a strange heaviness in the air, he raced to the Shrine he protected and found that the Master Emerald was gone. In its place was a strange portal of pulsating dark energy. With only that to go by, Knuckles knew the only way to find the treasure he guarded was to venture forth into the portal's depths--into the world of Death Battle.

Rival Cutscene:

(Knuckles makes a smooth landing from a glide, then scans the area around him as he wanders through the jungle he landed himself in.)

Knuckles: (sigh) No luck at finding the Master Emerald. That doesn't mean it's not here. (looks off at the tower in the distance) It's gotta be there. But how do I-

(Knuckles turns a corner and runs, headlong, into the chest of something big. The impact is enough to stagger the creature and make it drop whatever it was carrying...bananas? Knuckles gets his senses together and looks up to see a very-disgruntled gorilla glowering down at him. He recognizes the beast when he sees the monogrammed necktie.)

Knuckles: Wha-?! It's YOU!

(Donkey Kong growls, vividly remembering the time Knuckles stupidly chose to eat one of his bananas.)

Knuckles: I'm in the mood for a little payback, and this time-

(Knuckles takes what he hoped would be a menacing step towards Donkey Kong, but steps on a banana peel and falls flat on his seat.)

Knuckles: Oh, come ON! Are you kidding me?!

(Knuckles looks up at Donkey Kong to see a sizeable peel sticking to the gorilla's not-too-impressed-looking face. DK pulls the yellow skin off his face and discards it, steam starting to pour from his ears. He then beats his chest and punches Knuckles, sending him sliding across the ground.)

Knuckles: Grrr...always a victim of circumstance. (stands back up) Okay, monkey, lemme teach you a thing or two about how to REALLY hurt someone!

(Donkey Kong and Knuckles glower at each other, fists clenched, as the camera fades to black.)

Ending: With the Master Emerald now safely in hand, Knuckles returned to Angel Island and back to his post as its guardian. It seemed, however, that other treasure hunters could gain access to his world. Such was the case with two greedy brothers that went by Wario and Waluigi. Hoping to line their pockets with cash, they attempted to steal the Emerald...until Knuckles laid the smackdown on them, leaving them bruised and battered. "Don't push your luck" he said, not caring if the unconscious brothers could hear him.
