Bio: Adopted by the martial arts master Gouken, Ryu was trained in his master's style of Ansatsuken alongside his rival and best friend, Ken Masters, and soon dedicated his life to martial arts and improving himself. Ryu wanders the world in search of challenges and opponents who will test his strength and allow him to improve his own skill, whilst also being caught up in situations that force him into saving the world and struggling with the inner darkness of the Satsui no Hado within his own soul.

Special Attacks

-Shoryuken: Ryu delivers a powerful, jumping uppercut on the opponent, sending them flying into the air. This technique is useful to strike at airborne or close-range opponents.

*Hado Shoryuken: In this variation, Ryu will release blue, fiery ki just after the uppercut, sending the opponent higher into the air and dealing more damage.

-Hadoken: Ryu fires a somewhat slow-moving blue orb of energy at the opponent. This can be fired in two alternate forms, apart from the standard form:

*Ren Hadoken: Ryu fires five small quick Hadokens at the opponent in rapid succession. Each Hadoken moves quicker than a standard one but deal minimal damage.

*Baku Hadoken: Ryu fires a red Hadoken that disappears quickly as soon as it leaves Ryu's hands, before reappearing and detonating in a fiery explosion.

-Tatsumaki Senpukyaku: Ryu jumps up and performs a helicopter-like spinning kick at the opponent, allowing him to move a slight distance forward. This technique is useful to avoid or even move past projectiles.

-Joudan Sokutogeri: Ryu takes a small step back and delivers a powerful side kick, sending the opponent flying all the way back into the other side of the battlefield.

Throws

FORWARD: Ryu grabs the opponent's arm and judo-throws them over his shoulder.

BACKWARD: Ryu falls back with the opponent in his grip, then pushes them off with his feet.

Super Moves

-Ascendance of Power: Before the fight, the player chooses one of two modes to access, which will affect his Super Moves. Accessing them is done with the same combination, and both forms only lasts 10 seconds at best, or deactivate after he uses a specific Super Move.

*Mu no Ken: Ryu closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before snapping his eyes open, revealing that they've turned a bright white-blue as he attains the Power of Nothingness. In this state, Ryu's strength and durability increase, as do his own special moves for a brief period of time.

*Satsui No Hado: Ryu grits his teeth and his skin and clothes take on a darker tone as a red aura radiates from his body, signaling that he's tapped into the Satsui no Hado. In this state, Ryu's attacks become faster and more aggressive, but it comes at the risk of notably-weaker defenses.

-Shinku Hadoken: Ryu charges a massive amount of ki into a large ball of energy before firing a massive beam-like Hadoken at the opponent, dealing massive damage.

*Mu no Hadoken: Accessible only when Mu no Ken is active, the advanced hadoken beam will bounce off walls, making it harder to evade as well as inflict greater damage on anyone crossing two different streams.

*Ningen Hadoken: Accessible only when Satsui no Hado is active, Ryu will fire several hadoken-style attacks at machine-gun rates of fire. These hadokens are incredibly-fast, number 15 at least and can inflict fire damage.

-Metsu Shoryuken: Ryu strikes the opponent in the stomach with a powerful punch, then uppercuts their jaw with enough power to break it, before sending them flying in a three-strike attack that deals massive damage.

-Mu no Shoryuken: Accessible only when Mu no Ken is active, the resulting uppercut gains a fiery, blue aura and will inflict more damage in a single impact.

-Jigoku Shoryuken: Accessible only when Satsui no Hado is active, the uppercut hits multiple times before Ryu completes the attack, engulfing the enemy in a pillar of crimson fire.

FATALITIES:

-Ningen Shoryuken: Ryu focuses all his energies into his fist, then slams it into the opponent's chin in a powerful uppercut. After a second, their jaw breaks. Another second later and the jawbone is reduced to pieces. On the third and final second, Ryu's shoryuken goes all the way through, completely obliterating the skull and sending pieces of bone, blood, and brain into the air. Ryu looks at his handiwork in time to see the headless body fall to the ground.

-Fukushu no Ken: Ryu growls as he transforms into Evil Ryu. With a snarl indicating his loss of self-control, he punches the opponent right through the gut, then seizes them around the shoulders. With a sudden pull, he rips the opponent clean in two. After holding their still-bleeding torso in the air like a trophy, he dumps them on the ground and kicks them away in disgust.

Intro: Ryu walks into the battlefield, tightens his headband, and takes a battle stance.

Outro: Ryu crosses his arms, looking away from the opponent, the tassels of his headband blowing in the wind.

Prologue: Ryu had wandered the entire globe, doing his best to overcome his weaknesses and become stronger than he was once before. The words of Akuma still rang in his mind and the temptations of the Satsui No Hado lay crouched within his soul, waiting to spring forth. When a portal appeared before the Wandering Warrior, he nodded, knowing full well that there were challenges to be had, then set forth into its depths. He stepped into an alternate dimension full of unfamiliar surroundings and an eerie tower in the distance--a whole new world with a whole new set of challengers. Ryu would meet them all head on.

Rival Cutscene:

(Ryu stands amidst a dark, cold forest, his eyes shut, arms folded across his chest, and a gentle breeze causing the tassels of his headband to flow to the side.)

Ryu: These have been worthy opponents. I feel myself getting stronger...as well as the Satsui no Hado that Akuma spoke of. I have to find a way to either overcome it or purge it from my body. But the question there is "how?"

(Ryu's eyes snap open and swivel to the side as he hears footsteps, then turns sharply to grab something out of the air--a kunai on the end of a long chain. On the other end is a ninja that he recalls facing in the past.)

Ryu: So...we meet again, Hanzo.

(The ninja sharply retracts the kunai chain and his glowing-white eyes narrow at Ryu.)

Scorpion: It's "Scorpion" now, wanderer. Make this easier for yourself, unless you'd like to suffer more!

Ryu: (shakes head) Sorry. A true warrior gives his all in a fight. A coward surrenders at the face of pain.

Scorpion: You really haven't learned since we last met, have you?

Ryu: I let my guard down when I shouldn't have, Scorpion. (reaches up to tighten headband, then does the same with his gloves) I have learned from that mistake.

Scorpion: We shall see about that, Hoshi. (takes a combat stance) Prepare yourself for my wrath!

Ryu: (readies own combat stance) Very well then. FIGHT!

(Fade to black.)

Ending: Ryu's journey through the world of Death Battle yielded surprising results. By meeting many martial artists, Ryu was intrigued by their own mastery of ki and yearned to learn their ways. At the next World Warrior Tournament, Ryu met his hated enemy, Akuma...but the wandering warrior was different now, as indicated by the orange ki and deep-blue belt. He had a few new styles to show Akuma and to prove that he did not need the Satsui No Hado to be a powerful warrior.
