Bio: Shao Kahn entered the world of the Tag Battle Event, feeling he could draw power from the souls that also were brave-or foolish-enough to enter them. His ideas of conquest were cut short, but only briefly, for he found a partner with just as great a hunger for souls. This being, the azure knight known as Nightmare, reluctantly agreed, so long as they split the captured souls evenly between them.
Intro: The tip of a massive blade pierces the ground, then the camera pans up to reveal Nightmare gripping its hilt, red eyes gleaming. "Your souls are strong..." the azure knight says, then Shao Kahn strides out from behind him, Wrath Hammer in hand. "Indeed. We will enjoy devouring them!" the Konqueror says, dispelling his hammer and putting his fists on his hips, Nightmare pulling up the sword and angling it forward.
Nightmare combines vast reach and immense strength to keep foes at a distance and punish those that get within that range. His strongest attacks are pretty slow, however, and he's not particularly nimble, preferring to bulldoze his opponents.
-Ravager: Nightmare performs a series of whirling, upward- and downward-strikes as he advances, allowing him to strike the opponent multiple times.
-Bloody Invasion: Nightmare slams his clawed fist into the ground, creating a short-range tremor capable of stunning enemies.
-Dark Reconquista: Nightmare raises his sword over his head, shouts "Soul Edge!", then slams it down in a vertical chop.
-Death Row: Nightmare rushes forward, sword poised forward to impale the enemy. This move can push them back and, should he hit the invisible wall, he will twist his blade for more damage, then turn to slam them onto the ground.
-Critical Strike: If Nightmare uses a special move with the addition of an extra button, he will use the same move charged with red electricity, amplifying its strength slightly. Using this drains his super meter, though, so it can't be spammed.
-Nightmare plants a powerful haymaker into the opponent with his clawed hand, then uppercuts them into the air. He charges Soul Edge with dark magic, then pops the tip of his blade into the ground. A sphere of crackling, crimson energy then surrounds Nightmare as the opponent falls into it, screaming in agony. When the sphere dissipates, the opponent is on the ground and Nightmare holds Soul Edge up as the energy vanishes into its eye, the azure knight chuckling darkly.

Shao Kahn is more nimble than Nightmare with more methods of ranged warfare, but he's slightly slower and not quite as fearsome a melee combatant, requiring to get much closer to opponents to batter them into submission.
-Charging Spikes: Shao Kahn rushes forward to shoulder-tackle the enemy, the spikes amplifying damage.
-Wrath Hammer: Shao Kahn takes out his maul and will either throw it end-over-end, take a horizontal swipe to wallbounce opponents, or swing down to send enemies to the ground.
-Energy Spear: Shao Kahn conjures a spear of green energy and throws it at the opponent like a javelin. He can throw up to three at a time with proper timing.
-Emperor's Shield: Shao Kahn swipes downward, creating a brief energy shield that reflects projectiles back at the opponent.
-Upward Shoulder: Shao Kahn shoulder-charges into the air up to three times, his body laced with green energy. Useful in anti-air combat.
-Kahn slams the opponent to the ground with the Wrath Hammer, then his whole body glows green as a tornado of green, ethereal energy emerges from his body, dealing multiple hits to the opponent before sending them flying off in a random direction.

-Shao Kahn gains the blazing aura of Armageddon while Nightmare transforms into the blazing entity, Inferno. Together, hammer and blade in hand, they rush past the opponent many times, striking them with each pass. After a few good hits, both uppercut the opponent into the air and a vortex of fire surges upward from their bodies. The move burns the opponent, dealing massive damage, before discarding them to the ground. After the move is completed, Kahn loses his aura and Inferno returns to being the azure knight once again.
(Shao Kahn and Nightmare stepped through a portal and were transported onto a mountain, where they saw a man in a white gi with a red headband and a a man in blue and white with an asian hat)
Shao Kahn: Raiden. What a surprise to see you here
Raiden: Shao Kahn. I figured I would run into you here.
Shao Kahn: So, you would oppose my take over of this world as well?
Raiden: And let you destroy this like you did realms of the past? I think not.
Ryu: Lord Raiden, I shall help you
Shao Kahn: So, you've switched to a new pup and abandoned your Earthrealm defenders? No matter. I have an associate of my own
Nightmare: Your souls will be mine, and I shall consume you in darkness.
(Shao Kahn summoned his hammer and Raiden his staff before the four warriors rushed towards one another, weapons, or fists in Ryu's case, outstretched and ready to fight)
The souls of the defeated granted vast power to both Nightmare and Shao Kahn, but with one war won, another was soon to begin. Neither Kahn nor Nightmare liked to share power and with no one else to defeat, they swiftly turned on each other. With such varying and vast powers at their beck and call, and with no one to stand in their way, the ensuing battle would be nothing short of apocalyptic.
