Name: Vergil
Age: Unknown
Race: Human-Demon hybrid
Title: The Dark Slayer
Bio: Born the eldest son of Sparda the Demon King, Vergil has stood as a stark contrast to his younger brother Dante. While Dante is laidback, cocky, and hesitant to embrace his demonic heritage, Vergil was no-nonsense, dead-serious and embraced his heritage. After his mother was killed by demons, Vergil was wounded and left for dead, but survived his injuries and set out to try and obtain the power of his father, running into his brother and butting heads with him regularly. In the end, his desires for power brought about his permanent disfigurement and eventually, his demise.

Special Attacks:
-Judgement Cut: Vergil draws his sword faster than the eye can detect, creating a whirling vortex of cuts a set distance away. Distance varies depending on the attack button used.
-Trick: Vergil teleports either above, in front of, or behind the opponent depending on the button used. Useful for starting combo attacks.
-Round Trip: By holding and charging an attack button, Vergil will throw a whirling energy blade on the button's release. The attack will hit multiple times going out and coming back to Vergil.
-Rising Sun: Vergil springs into the air, swinging his blade twice. Useful up-close or to catch airborn enemies.
-Lunar Phase: Vergil leaps a good distance, spinning his body with his blade outstretched to turn himself into a living buzz-saw.
-Rapid Slash: Vergil dashes forward, leaving a trail of whirling vortexes (see Judgement Cut). If blocked, the move leaves him vulnerable.
Throws
FORWARD: Vergil rams the pommel of his sheathed blade into the opponent's gut, then cuts them down with Yamato.
BACKWARD: Vergil grabs the opponent's neck, maneuvers behind them, then hacks at their back with Yamato.
Super Moves:
-Spiral Swords: Vergil summons forth eight blades of pure energy that encircle him and damage the opponent on touch. This allows him to rack up damage and combos. After a set amount of time, the blades will fade away.
*Sword of Storms: Used only during Spiral Swords. The swords will reappear above the opponent, point-down, and rain down on them after a set time.
*Blistering Sword: The swords surrounding Vergil point forward and will fire themselves at the opponent upon using the move
-Devil Trigger: Vergil turns into a demonic state that enhances his strength, speed, and gradually restores a small fraction of his health. He can also dash through the air and perform a double-jump.
*Dark Angel: Used only during Devil Trigger. Vergil takes a swipe at the opponent, then unleashes a massively-quick barrage of slashes on the opponent, an energy blade forming with each hit. When he grounds the opponent with a final hit, every sword rains down on the opponent. Using this move brings Vergil out of Devil Trigger.
FATALITIES:
-Easy Kill: Vergil grips Yamato, then appears to vanish, reappearing behind the opponent and teleporting again and again in rapid succession. Finally, he reappears, back to the opponent and sword drawn. He sheathes it without even turning to look at the opponent, who falls to pieces...then those pieces are sliced into smaller ones until all that's left is little more than an array of tiny, finely-diced cubes.
-Iron Maiden: Vergil calls forth several energy blades, which plunge into the opponent from varying angles--shoulders, gut, neck, head, chest, no part is spared. When Vergil sheathes his blade, the energy blades wrench outward to cut the opponent into pieces.
Intro: Vergil strides in with perfect composure, then takes his blade, Yamato, from his person, grips it tight, and casts the opponent a disapproving glower.
Outro: Vergil points Yamato at the opponent like an accusing finger, then shakes his head, positions Yamato's scabbard behind him and reaches over his shoulder to sheathe the blade.

Theme Song: Vergil's Battle Theme from Devil May Cry 5
_________________________________________________________________________________________
Prologue: Vergil couldn't properly explain what had occurred. One minute, he was in the endless void of death. The next, he was alive and in a world he couldn't even begin to believe existed. One thing was for certain, though. With this newfound life, Vergil's desire for greater power was born anew. This world of "Death Battle" held many powerful adversaries. Odds were at least one of them would hold the key to the power he sought.
Rival Cutscene:
(Inside a dark tower, Vergil makes his way up a flight of stairs. He can tell he's gotten far up by how the wind is howling. As he observes this, a hideous horned demon roars a challenge at him and lunges. Vergil makes no effort to move away and walks right past the monster, who inexplicably freezes. When Vergil passes him, the beast falls to the ground in pieces.)
Vergil: Weak. Very weak.
(Vergil passes a window on the winding stairway, then pauses to lock his eyes on the distant tower.)
Vergil: That place. It has the answers I seek. I can feel it.
(Vergil continues his ascent and finally reaches the rooftop. In his immediate line of sight, he spots another demon. Before he can even move, its head hits the floor and the body falls off the ledge, plummeting all the way to the ground below. A slight shift of his gaze lands his eyes on the back of a warrior with long, silver hair and a seven-foot sword in hand.)
????: And if all its obstacles are this weak, defeat is nothing to concern myself over.
(Vergil, recognizing this warrior as none other than Sephiroth, walks toward him.)
Vergil: You seem so sure of yourself.
(Sephiroth doesn't need to look back. He knows who it is. Without even turning, he speaks to Vergil again.)
Sephiroth: I see your determination hasn't diminished. It seems not even death by my blade could hold you back.
Vergil: And I see you're as confident as ever.
Sephiroth: (turns to face Vergil) Do you desire power so much that you'll taste my steel again just to witness it?
Vergil: (grips Yamato's hilt) You'll die before your first stroke follows through.
Sephiroth: Quite the bold claim. Come and try, then, if you're that confident in your skill.
(Vergil's face twists into a scowl and, in a blur of blue, he vanishes. Sephiroth swiftly raises Masamune and meets Yamato with a flash of light and a clang of steel. What happens next is a deadly dance, Vergil swinging his blade with blinding speed and Sephiroth parrying with astonishing grace and precision. After an exchange, the two lock blades.)
Sephiroth: Is that it? I still live, don't I? And I haven't even struck back at you.
Vergil: I'm just getting started.
Sephiroth: Really? How interesting.
(Sephiroth pushes Vergil off, then swings his blade once. A multitude of slashes lash out at Vergil, who parries each one albeit with some difficulty. When all slashes are deflected, Sephiroth smiles cruelly.)
Sephiroth: That was my first swing. I don't think you've killed me.
Vergil: (through grit teeth) Don't. Mock. Me!!!
Sephiroth: Then show me the full extent of your power. Silence me with your blade, not your words.
Vergil: With pleasure.
(Both charge, blades poised to swing and time slowing when they get within striking distance. Fade to black.)
Ending: His victory assured, Vergil cut down the Mastermind of Death Battle and gained power beyond his wildest dreams. Demons from across the multiverse rose against him, but fell to his power. In time, some gave in and joined his cause, serving under him as an army. The eldest son of Sparda finally achieved his lifelong dream--he now sat on the throne of Hell itself. Any who threatened him were set to face a mighty foe.
