Bio: Born into the Shirai Ryu ninja clan, Hanzo Hasashi was raised to be an expert assassin (much to the dismay of his father) and an eternal rival to the Lin Kuei clan. Tragedy would strike when his entire clan was wiped out, supposedly, by the Lin Kuei and he awoke in the fiery depths of the Netherrealm. Desiring revenge for the massacre of his clan, he struck a deal with the sorcerer Quan Chi and returned to the mortal plane as a hellspawn named Scorpion, swearing his deepest vengeance against the Lin Kuei warrior, Sub-Zero.

Special Attacks

-Demon Fire: Scorpion summons a small pillar of fire under the enemy’s feet, igniting them to do mild damage and stun them for combo attacks.

-Teleport: Scorpion turns as though running away, then disappears in a burst of fire and reappears behind the enemy to attack them from behind.

-Kunai Spear: With his iconic “Get over here!”, Scorpion thrusts out a spike attached to a long chain. If it connects, it will impale the opponent and Scorpion can follow up by pulling them in close for an easy attack.

-Demon Axe: Scorpion takes a double-bladed axe and hurls it end-over-end at the opponent to inflict fairly-heavy damage.

*Boomerang Axe: At the cost of some Super Meter, the axe can return to Scorpion like a boomerang, hitting the enemy on the return trip.

-Fire Strike: Scorpion ignites his fists and feet for a brief period of time. During this time, his attacks inflict fire damage and gain a brief increase in power.

Throws

FORWARD: Scorpion kicks the opponent away, then latches onto them with his kunai spear and pulls them back in to punch them to the ground.

BACKWARD: Scorpion opens a portal and kicks his opponent through it, then opens another one behind him and the opponent flies out of it.

Super Moves

-Toasty!: Scorpion removes his mask to reveal a flaming, red-eyed skull in place of a human head, then spits a stream of fire at the opponent to cause massive damage to the opponent. If it lands successfully, the iconic Dan Forden “TOASTY!” effect will sound off as Scorpion replaces his mask.

-To Hell With You: Scorpion rushes the opponent and, if he connects, he will grab onto them and teleport them to the Netherrealm. From the lava emerges a series of Shirai Ryu zombies who swarm the enemy as the screen goes black. When the screen returns vision, the player will be back on whatever stage they are on.

FATALITIES:

-Who's Next?: Scorpion thrusts a kunai spear at the opponent, lodging it in their temple. He summons a stone slab to his right, then jerks the opponent's head off their shoulders and sends it flying to the slab. Taking one of his swords, he throws it just as the opponent's head hits the slab, the point of the blade impaling them through the forehead and pinning the head to the slab.

-You're Next!: Scorpion lights himself with hellfire, then dives at the opponent, completely burning out their midsection, which dangles by their spinal column. His back still to them, he swiftly unsheathes his sword, turns and cuts off their head. As it flies through the air, Scorpion lunges with his kunai spear, the point ramming into the back of the flying head and exiting through their mouth before retracting it to Scorpion's hand. He then holds it out as though showing off a new trophy and/or warning sign.

Intro: Scorpion leaps out of a flaming pit, his body covered in fire, then he extinguishes them and makes a challenging gesture to the enemy.

Outro: Scorpion lets his kunai spear hang from his hand, then lights it in fire and swings it in a flashy display before thrusting it forward.

Prologue: Cursed to damnation in the fires of the Netherrealm, Scorpion could only listen to the screams of his fellow Shirai Ryu as they suffered in this hellish realm alongside him. When a portal opened, he suspected that it was Quan Chi again...until he realized that this one had a strange, otherworldly aura to it, completely alien from the magics he had witnessed. Deciding to take his chances in another world, all while not being on Quan Chi's leash, Scorpion stepped in without question and found himself in the world of Death Battle.

Rival Cutscene:

(Scorpion strides through a dark forest, unwavered by the atmosphere and with an unbreakable focus. He pauses, scans the area, then continues onward.)

Scorpion: I don't know what this world is, but it's starting to wear at my patience! I feel no closer to salvation!

(Scorpion's eyes fall on a shadowy figure in the distance.)

Scorpion: Sub-Zero-wait... (squints eyes to get a closer look) It's that warrior I crossed paths with in the past--Ryu. Perhaps defeating him will bring me closer to my goal!

(Scorpion advances and, when he's close enough, he throws a kunai spear at Ryu's back. Ryu turns sharply to grab something out of the air--a kunai on the end of a long chain. On the other end is a ninja that he recalls facing in the past.)

Ryu: So...we meet again, Hanzo.

(The ninja sharply retracts the kunai chain and his glowing-white eyes narrow at Ryu.)

Scorpion: It's "Scorpion" now, wanderer. Make this easier for yourself, unless you'd like to suffer more!

Ryu: (shakes head) Sorry. A true warrior gives his all in a fight. A coward surrenders at the face of pain.

Scorpion: You really haven't learned since we last met, have you?

Ryu: I let my guard down when I shouldn't have, Scorpion. (reaches up to tighten headband, then does the same with his gloves) I have learned from that mistake.

Scorpion: We shall see about that, Hoshi. (takes a combat stance) Prepare yourself for my wrath!

Ryu: (readies own combat stance) Very well then. FIGHT!

(Fade to black.)

Ending: Defeating the enigmatic mastermind was almost insultingly-easy for Scorpion, as indicated by the fool's bloody remains. Originally planning to restore his clan, a far more sinister goal took root in Hanzo's mind. Not long after, Outworld fell under attack by hellish ninjas, Scorpion acting as their spearhead. Yes...this was much better than his original plan--a clan of immortal, demonic shinobi that could not be stopped.
