Bio: An expert adventurer and treasure hunter, Shovel Knight attained a massive horde of gold and treasure alongside his partner, Shield Knight. However, all that would change when the Tower of Fate came into the picture. Once inside, a magical amulet knocked out Shovel and abducted Shield. Depressed at his loss, Shovel Knight retired and took up farming. In his absence, the villainous Enchantress and her Order of No Quarter took over, and the Tower of Fate opened once more. Knowing it was the only time to search for answers, Shovel Knight took blade in hand and came out of retirement to fight once more.

Special Attacks:

-Shovel Drop: Midair move. Shovel Knight dives down, shovel head aimed below him, and will damage anyone below him. If he hits the ground, he'll bounce into the air.

-Shovel Chuck: Shovel Knight plants the tip of his shovel into the ground and hurls a rock at the opponent. It travels in an arc, the distance and height varying on the strength of the button used.

-Propeller Dagger: Shovel Knight takes a dagger and it carries him either forward, straight up, or up and at an angle. Any opponent in his way will be damaged as Shovel Knight passes through them.

-Throwing Anchor: Shovel Knight throws a heavy anchor high into the air. It will damage any airborne opponent and any opponent it falls down on top of.

-Dust Knuckles: Shovel Knight rushes the opponent while throwing a powerful haymaker. He can then follow up with one of three other attacks by pressing a button.

LIGHT: Throws a jab that will do light damage, but he will back off a few steps afterward as a retreat.

MEDIUM: Sucker-punches the opponent, stunning them.

HEAVY: Uppercuts the opponent, launching them into the air.

Throws

FORWARD: Shovel Knight plants the tip of his shovel into the ground below the opponent, then flips the ground up into the air, taking the opponent with them. As they come down, he will swing with his shovel and whack them away.

BACKWARD: Shovel Knight, through the use of his shovel, picks the opponent up, slams them into the ground behind him, and whacks them repeatedly while they're down.

Super Moves:

-War Horn: Shovel Knight takes an old-fashioned horn, takes a deep breath, then blows it, creating a long blast of sound. It spans the whole stage, travels in every direction, and if unblocked, will do massive damage to the opponent. After he performs the move, however, he must take a quick breather.

-Mobile Gear: Shovel Knight throws a box down at the ground and hops onto it. It explodes and, if the opponent is in its immediate zone, Shovel Knight will emerge from the dust cloud, riding on a massive gear. It runs the opponent over and damages them repeatedly as the gears grind them against the ground

FATALITIES:

-Dig Deeper: Shovel Knight twirls his shovel, then hops into the air and dives down, blade facing down. He lands on top of the opponent's head, then bounces off and keeps bouncing off of them, his blade embedding itself deeper with each landing. When he finally stops, the opponent's front half falls forward and they fall down in a bloody heap.

-Dig Out Sections: Shovel Knight knocks the opponent down with his Shovel Blade, then jumps in the air and lands, blade-first, on their feet, severing them from the body. He then proceeds to scale their body from the...former feet-up until he plants the blade into their face. He hops off, then stands back as the body segments fall into separate chunks.

Intro: Shovel Knight marches onto the field, then points his Shovel Blade at the opponent. He digs up a large boulder, then smashes it to emphasize his strength.

Outro: Shovel Knight holds his Shovel Blade in salute, then plants the tip into the ground, his hands resting on the handle and one foot propped on the blade.

Prologue: Shovel Knight and Shield Knight--an unstoppable duo. After having toppled the Order of No Quarter and rescued Shield Knight, Shovel Knight was glad for life to be returning to normal. Adventuring, plundering, and braving new territory were just a few of the things they did. When a portal opened near the ruined entryway to the Tower of Fate, Shield and Shovel set forth for a new adventure...only to be separated once again. This time, Shovel Knight knew not to mope or despair and began his journey through the world of Death Battle (while also collecting treasure).

Rival Cutscene:

(Shovel Knight is traversing a vast, hilly, medieval-style land in search of adventure and wealth. He hops on top of a large boulder, then blocks the sun from his eyes as he scans the horizon.)

Shovel Knight: Hm...no sign of treasure or adversaries out over yon direction either.

(Shovel Knight looks in the opposite direction and, judging by his sudden jump, his search is more successful this time. He has spotted a large, brown object that is moving at a slow and steady pace.)

Shovel Knight: What ho? Now who, pray tell, might that be? I daresay I shan't find out by just standing here in the distance!

(Shovel Knight takes off in pursuit of the object and, on getting closer, realizes it's a giant bag. Looking past it, he sees it being dragged by an elderly waterfowl with a coat, top hat, and cane.)

Shovel Knight: (hides behind cover) It's the duck whose treasure I stumbled upon and yearned to collect! One doth not need genius intellect to know that he's got gold in that bag.

(Shovel Knight sneaks up behind Scrooge, the bag obscuring him from sight.)

Shovel Knight: *whispers* Time to put this plan into action.

(With his trademark Shovel Blade, Shovel Knight tears a hole and a series of gold objects begins to flow out of it. Shovel Knight scoops up what he can, then retreats for cover as the bag stops moving.)

????:NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! MY HARD-EARNED FORTUNE!

(His cover blown, Shovel Knight calls out to answer a newfound challenge...)

Shovel Knight: YES, you foulest of fowls! Treasure belongeth only to the noble and proud!

(Shovel Knight emerges from his cover and meets Scrooge McDuck eye-to-eye. In an act of spite, he uses his shovel to scoop up some of the gold and add it to his own, steadily-growing collection. Scrooge is NOT amused by this.)

Scrooge: You spade-sportin' buffoon! Ye were the one who cut open me bag, weren'tcha?!

Shovel Knight: I dare not deny it. *points shovel at Scrooge* I'll let you know that I was the finest plunderer and seeker of treasure in the land! I shall not be outdone by a waterfowl whose motivation is mere avarice!

Scrooge: I spent me whole life collectin' and expandin' my fortune, riskin' life and limb for it! *pats cane into palm, threateningly* And I'm not about to let YOU walk away with it--NOT without a fight!

Shovel Knight: *releases bag and holds up shovel* As a knight and a champion of shovelry, I accept your challenge! HAVE AT THEE!

(Both rush each other, weapons of choice poised to swing. Fade to black.)

Ending: Reunited with Shield Knight at the great tower, the two vanquished the Mastermind of Death Battle. At first, the two were tempted to go back to their world, but the idea of obtaining riches from throughout the multiverse was too good to pass up. Their first hunt for treasure led to Shovel Knight holding a comically-large pile of golden bananas in front of him, and Shield Knight hauling a massive emerald over her head, and both being pursued by a necktie-sporting gorilla and a punch-happy echidna...BOTH being very angry at the loot being taken. 'Tis the life of a treasure hunter...
