Race: Human
Title: The Emerald Knight
Bio: A test pilot for the United States Air Force, Hal Jordan was a reckless daredevil always testing his odds. Then one day, he found a wrecked starfighter and pulled out its dying pilot, Abin Sur. With his last breath, Abin gave Hal a green ring and dubbed him his successor. Since then, he proven to be a devoted protector of both his planet and countless others like it.

Voice Actor: Josh Keaton
Special Attacks:
-Willpower Wall: Hal conjures a brick wall that the opponent cannot cross. It can be destroyed with numerous or strong attacks, but is useful in blocking projectiles and blocking possible combos.
-Emerald Mine: Hal creates a green spikeball on a certain part of the stage that will explode and damage the opponent if touched. If left alone, it simply dissolves after a few seconds.
-Lantern Light: Hal fires a beam of energy from his ring that spans the whole stage and moves quickly, but is relatively thin and easy to jump over.
-Cognitive Arsenal: Hal summons one of three constructs and performs a different attack based on the button input.
LIGHT: Hal swings a baseball bat that, on a successful hit, will wallbounce the opponent.
MEDI: Hal throws a large, metallic claw at the opponent that will lock them in-place.
HEAVY: Hal flies forward with a spinning drill at the front that repeatedly hits the opponent.
-Beware My Power: Hal fires a short-range beam either straight forward, straight up, or up at an angle. If it hits, a green aura surrounds the opponent and Green Lantern will smash them to the ground before detonating the aura in a blast of green fire.
Throws
FORWARD: Green Lantern forms a pair of metal cestus to his hands, punching the opponent repeatedly before smashing them to the ground with a huge hammer.
BACKWARD: Green Lantern binds the opponent's arms, then creates a battering ram behind them that hits them hard enough to make them go flying.
Super Moves:
-Green Lantern's Might: Hal pulls out a Green Lantern Battery, then plants his ring into it, supercharging himself and gaining a brighter-green aura. In this state, his constructs have greater effective range and his projectiles have a more explosive touch to them. After a few seconds, he will lose the aura and perform a lengthy recovery animation from overworking himself.
-Emerald Sun: Hal Jordan forms an actual sun made of green energy, its size taking up most of the stage and its intense heat inflicting multiple fire-based hits on the opponent. After a couple seconds, it will explode in a green fireball that spans the whole stage.
-Power of Oa: Hal forms a portal at a specific point on the stage. If the opponent touches it without blocking, they will be transported to some sort of pocket dimension. Hal then appears and, using his ring, creates a whole line of stinger missiles that all fire at the opponent, peppering them with explosions. When they clear, the opponent is blasted into the air, Hal flying ahead of them, forming a small, green moon that falls towards them, exploding on impact and leaving them flat on the ground.
FATALITIES:
-Unlimited Arsenal: Using his ring to strap opponent's legs down and suspend their arms, Hal forms a variety of various weapons and sets to beating the opponent up with occasional X-Rays to show the damage. A baseball bat smashes their legs, a meat cleaver shears off an arm, a nail gun pips them in the chest multiple times, and a wrecking ball pops off their head. Finally, a stick of dynamite plants itself in their chest and explodes, sending body parts everywhere.
-Verdant Vortex: Green Lantern uses his ring and fires at the opponent's chest, but rather than blast a hole through it, it creates a small wormhole in the center mass of their body, which cracks and distorts in a vague spiral shape as they get sucked into the singularity's depths, screaming in agony all the way. They briefly try to hold onto anything, but their limbs snap off, then get sucked in along with the rest of them.
Intro: Green Lantern walks into the arena, holds up a giant Lantern Battery, then puts his ring to it to charge it up. When fully-charged, he will gain a green aura and hover into the air.
Outro: Green Lantern hovers into the air, then takes off into the sky, does a few loop-de-loops, then flies at the camera, freezing on his iconic "flying pose".

Prologue: In the far reaches of space, the immortal Guardians heard distress signals across the universe--word of portals of varying shapes and sizes, some with gravitic forces drawing in the innocent and others still showing up and claiming the same innocents that accidentally walked into them. They dispatched Green Lanterns of every shape and size to observe the phenomena, but only one was daring enough to actually venture into them--their crown champion, Hal Jordan. Upon his arrival, he found his Power Ring received a significant handicap and that it couldn't get him out of the world of Death Battle. While he found it seemed to have unlimited charge, that was the only benefit he had. He'd have to do the rest by this world's rules.
Rival Cutscene:
(Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern, flies through space, his eyes scanning for signs of danger, and occasionally using his ring as a sort of display or map.)
Hal: Gone in a full circle, again.
(Hal pauses, then opens a portal in front of him, flying into it. He reappears on the other side, only to find himself back where he started.)
Hal: I thought as much. (ring starts to flash) Hold the phone. An energy signature? And it's close! I better check this out. Could be a friend, could not, but I won't know until I get there.
(Hal takes off, his body becoming an emerald streak of light in the process. When he arrives at a particular planet, he suddenly changes angle and slams down on the ground like a meteorite, kicking up dust. When he emerged, he hovered toward the source to see it was none other than that Ben 10, or more accurately, the Omnitrix on his wrist.)
Hal: Well, I thought I recognized that energy signature.
Ben: And I thought that comet was moving funny.
(Ben and Hal stare each other down in a tense, hostile fashion...then both crack a smile and actually shake hands.)
Hal: Good to see ya, Benny.
Ben: Same to you, Hal! Glad to see another defender of the universe is here. So, got any clues?
Hal: Er, kind of. From what I can tell, someone's behind it all and is basically tampering with devices and powers.
Ben: So that's why all I have are five aliens. What about your ring?
Hal: If I wanted to get out of here, I would've done it already. Believe me, I've tried. What about that one alien you had? Alien X, was it? Couldn't he do something?
Ben: I'd rather not tempt fate. It's hard to control sometimes and, if you couldn't do it with your ring, I doubt he could do much either.
Hal: Great. At the way things are going, we're going to have to do this the hard way--go right to the source and give this guy a piece of our minds.
Ben: That may be a bit of a problem.
Hal: I take that to mean you've pieced together what I did?
Ben: Yup. Only one of us can actually go ahead.
Hal: And there's only one way to settle it.
(Ben smiles confidently, then activates the Omnitrix.)
Ben: Give it your all, Hal. I know I'm gonna give mine.
(Hal returns the gesture, then holds up his power ring.)
Hal: I'm counting on it, kid.
(Ben fiddles with his watch, chooses a form, then raises a hand.)
Ben: It's time to go hero!
(When Ben slams his hand down on the Omnitrix's face, there's a flash of green light followed by a swift fade to black.)
Ending: Hal was successful in bringing down the Mastermind of Death Battle and putting him behind bars on the Guardian homeworld of Oa. He even brought a few friends along, feeling they were fit to take on the Green Lantern mantle. As the Guardians' reach expanded throughout the multiverse, they heeded Hal's words and soon enough, there were Saiyans, Autobots, Asgardians, Jedi and more among their fast-expanding peacekeeping corps, all with Hal Jordan as its vanguard and spearhead.
