Name: Dedede
Age: Unknown
Race: Bird
Title: King of Dreamland
Bio: The self-appointed King of Dreamland, Dedede ruled over his subjects as a gluttonous and self-preening tyrant. While his motivations weren't always completely-malicious, he had only a modicum of respect at best. Not helping was the arrival of a popular and heroic pink hero--Kirby. Tired of not being the center of attention anymore, Dedede began a strict workout to try and keep up with his nemesis, bolstering his speed and raw power, even learning how to fly like Kirby. While their rivalry has become friendlier over the years, Dedede is still out to prove his superiority to Kirby in any way possible.

Voice Actor: Masahiro Sakurai
Special Attacks:
-Inhale: Dedede opens his mouth and creates a suction cone that draws whatever is near into his mouth. If it's the opponent, they will disappear in his mouth and he will proceed to spit them out, damaging them. If it's a projectile, he will spit it back at the opponent. If it's an explosive, it will damage Dedede.
-Dedede Jump: Dedede springs straight into the air and offscreen, coming back down at a different part of the stage and crushing anyone underneath him. He'll also create stars on impact, damaging the opponent even if he doesn't hit them directly.
-Jet Hammer: King Dedede pulls back his hammer, activating a hidden engine that gathers energy. When released, Dedede will swing hard, knocking the opponent backward.
*Nitro Hammer: When Dedede fully-charges his hammer, he will fly forward, spinning like a top with his hammer outstretched, hitting multiple times. The downside is that, after the move is pulled off, he will have a brief cooldown time as he recovers from dizziness.
-Minion Throw: King Dedede places a minion in front of him and uses his hammer like a golf club to send them flying at the opponent. If the minion doesn't hit the opponent, it will land, wander around a few seconds, then run away. 2/3 can be damaged by the opponent.
*Waddle Dee: Mid-Range, but does minimal damage. Wanders around after landing and can be used as a makeshift shield.
*Waddle Doo: Short-Range, but adds additional range by shooting a short-range electric beam after landing.
*Gordo: Long-Range, does the most damage and can't be damaged, but it keeps going when it's thrown, making it fairly-easy to evade.
Throws
FORWARD: Dedede headbutts the opponent, then smacks them away with a golf-swing from his hammer.
BACKWARD: Dedede rams the head of his hammer into the opponent's midsection, then uses it to lift them into the air and smash them on the ground behind him.
Super Moves:
-Minion Swarm: King Dedede whistles shrilly, then points forward with his hammer. From behind him emerges an entire horde of Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos that stampede past him and charge across the stage, hitting the opponent multiple times and occasionally electrocuting them with energy beams.
-Electric Hammer Shot: Dedede pulls out his Electric Hammer and fires a series of missiles at the opponent. The missiles fly in every direction, making them difficult to dodge. After they're all detonated, he then fires a beam of fiery energy across the stage.
-Dedede Ring: Dedede rushes forward, spinning his hammer. If he hits, the opponent is thrown backward to slam into the bars of a giant, metal cage. Suddenly, rockets fly at them, exploding on contact. In the midst of it, Dedede (now donning his iconic mask) takes up the Electric Hammer, kicks up its engines, then flies at the opponent, spinning rapidly to slam the head of his hammer into them, shattering the cage on impact.
FATALITIES:
-DDD Smash: King Dedede kicks up the engines in his hammer, then spins to gain centrifugal force. With pinpoint precision, Dedede lands the head of his hammer on the side of the opponent's head, reducing it to pieces before expertly turning the head towards the still-standing corpse. In one swift movement, the body is crushed under the hammer, creating an explosion of body parts, blood, and guts.
-Gordo Putt: Dedede pulls out a Gordo, then tosses it into the air and swings with his hammer hard just as it comes down. The Gordo flies right at the opponent's midsection and lodges itself in with its spikes. A split-second later and a second Gordo lands on their shoulder. As they stagger, weakly trying not to fall over, Dedede winds up and smacks a third and final Gordo at the opponent, the impact of it shattering the opponent's head while the Gordo remains rooted to the stump of their neck, even as they collapse.
Intro: Dedede rides in on a platform, carried by Waddle Dees, then dismounts and readies his mallet.
Outro: Dedede pats his belly with a hearty laugh, then raises his hammer into the air in victory, a smug grin on his face.
Stage: Dedede Ring
Theme Song: Masked Dedede Theme from "Kirby Triple Deluxe"

Prologue: All was peaceful in the country of Dreamland. Everyone was minding their own business and not a single sign of Kirby to be found, so all was well at least in King Dedede's book. During a hearty lunch, however, the King of Dreamland's day took a turn for the weird when a portal materialized into existence at the foot of his dining table. In complete and utter shock, Dedede grabbed onto his chair as the portal began to drag him in, then the head of the table, then the chandelier, and then the tablecloth itself before he finally succumbed to its gravitational pull. Coming to in the world of Death Battle, Dedede knew he had to escape, but could not resist the thought of what victory could do to boost his reputation.
Rival Cutscene:
(In a vast, grassy plain, a Goomba waddles across a path running along it, and appears to be minding its own business. However, a shadow looms over it and when it turns to meet it, it's met with a faceful of hammer and goes flying over the horizon. Content with his handiwork, the culprit that turns out to be King Dedede props his hammer on his shoulder and waddles further down the path. Hearing a distant sound, he takes cover behind a bush, then peers out from it with a pair of binoculars.
From his cover, he sees that it's a motorcycle and its driver is none other than Wario, dragging around a bag with a huge dollar sign on it. Dedede gets a wicked gleam in his eye and as Wario tears past him, he actually opens his mouth and inhales the bike, making sure to spare the money bag while Wario flies right past him. Dedede's success causes him to laugh in a proud fashion, and he hauls the bag of moneybag over his shoulder and takes off with a proud strut.)
Wario: HEY, YOU!
(Dedede turns around with a confused grunt, then is promptly knocked flying backward when Wario shoulder-charges him and grabs his money bag. Dedede catches himself in midair, then pulls out a Gordo and smacks it with his hammer, sending it flying at Wario and popping him full in the face. Landing on the ground, Dedede takes a running charge at the grounded Wario, who looks up in fright...then giggles mischievously, sidesteps him and sticks his foot out, causing the monarch of Dreamland to trip and fall flat on his face.)
Wario: Hehehe! Easy!
(Wario's moment of gloating is punished when a big, heavy object slams down on top of his head, causing a visible lump to sprout from the point of impact. He shakes the cobwebs from his head just as Dedede runs past him, both grabbing one end of the money bag and pulling with all their might. To their horror, however, the bag rips down the middle, spilling coins, jewels, and countless riches across the ground. Wario scrambles to try and pick it up, but Dedede just opens his mouth and begins to suck them all down his gullet, causing Wario to freeze, eyes wide with horror.
When the last coin is down, Dedede opens his mouth and fires a large star at Wario, the projectile hitting him full in the face and scattering the coins even further. This is enough to cause Dedede to burst out laughing at Wario's misfortune.)
Wario: Hey!
(Dedede looks at Wario, who is cracking his knuckles and looking more peeved than ever at the sucker-punch he suffered.)
Wario: Let's-a go.
(Dedede seems to be up for the challenge as indicated by his pulling out his mallet and patting it in his palm, threateningly. Just as they're about to go at it, the screen fades to black.)
Ending: Dedede defeated the Mastermind of Death Battle mere seconds before Kirby showed up and, with a smug grin, decided to rub Kirby's tardiness in his face (though it's doubtful if he understood it). Both returned to Dreamland and Dedede resumed his place on his throne while Kirby returned to...whatever it was he did in his spare time. To Dedede's slight dismay, the amount of respect he got in return for his misadventures was raised only marginally. On the upside, he did begin to pick up on actually caring for his subjects, albeit in his own weird way.
