"Take care."
"The past week seems to have consisted of periods of torrential rain and dull skies. As a result instead of cutting hedges and generally pottering about, I have been spending more time indoors entertaining myself (and the big spiders that have migrated into the house) with lots more music. That means that I have a greater number of tracks to dither about choosing from. It took a while but having managed to edit out a couple of fabulous 'Genre Benders', (Cassandra Wilson's version of 'Death Letter' and Diana Washington performing Hank William's 'Cold Cold Heart'), these are the last three tracks on my short list.
Has anyone managed to cover a Beatles Track with a better result than the original? Very possibly! Turn the tremolo unit up to ten..."

You Are A Light by Pavement -
I Am A Tree by Guided Voices -
Nature Breaks by Rats On Rafts -
"From this week's listening..."
"...something "out there" from a cult British psychedelic rock band's 1990 debut LP (...and thanks to ex-RPMer Allan for flagging these lads up from the old village hall meet-up days)..."
She's Looking All Around by Sun Dial -
"...and concluding with some 1980s prog from Aberdeen, a tune from the bands second LP released in '86. After 1984s very proggish debut The Sentinel, I suspect the band were told by the record company to write something a bit more radio friendly!...which this certainly is. (Prog stalwarts Yes had just had a massive commercial hit with the 90125 album from which the globally successful single Owner of a Lonely Heart had been taken)."
Imagination by Pallas -
