(No problem....although you realise this could open the bonus track floodgates again....? Tim)

"Sadly some of us are fully in the zone now where we hear of our musical heroes passing away and it was extra sad to hear of the passing of Dave Cousins a few days ago. I've picked lots of tracks by the Strawbs for our weekly musical exchanges but would like to reprise a song medly I picked in 2020, together with my notes at the time as one of my choices this week. Dave was an extremely talented individual and a really nice chap.......and stop press,...
Also acknowledging the passing of Connie Francis - will no doubt select one of hers next time."
Ghosts by The Strawbs - "I've seen the band many times as full lineup or as The Acoustic Strawbs. I was lucky enough to sit down and have a couple of pints with Dave Cousins and Dave Lambert after a show they did at The Marina Theatre in Lowestoft. It was worth standing a couple of rounds to get all my Strawbs Vinyl signed."
Driftwood by Justin Hayward (Moody Blues) - "Heard it on the radio this week - class!"
It Don't Take But a Few Minutes by Chuck Berry - "I was making a minor repair to the sleeve of 'One Dozen Berrys' and gave it a play at the same time. I didn't remember this country flavoured track from Chuck but it ain't bad."

"Best wishes to all RPMers as always."
"Greetings RPMers, I hope all is well in your world. Here are three tracks that I've listened to this week..."
Memory Lane, Hugh by Caravan -Β
Love My Way by Psychedelic Furs -Β
Finally, a tribute to Dave Cousins who sadly passed away earlier this week. A great man who I had the pleasure of meeting on a few occasions; humble and always generous with his time for a chat. It's hard to pick one track from his vast output (The Strawberry Hill Boys, his collaboration with Sandy Denny, The 'Prog Era' Strawbs, Acoustic Strawbs etc.) but this one takes some beating.Β
R.I.P.
The Man Who Called Himself Jesus by The Strawbs -

"Best wishes to all, as always."
"While the weather is jolly hot, I needed to find us something cooler than an ice cream sundae..."
Far Away by Astrud Gilberto, featuring Chet Baker -
"And this one (appropriately named for when I should have been looking for it) is so chilled that it has beads of condensation slowly gathering on it's sides...."
Thursday Afternoon by Brian Eno -
"Not quite so cool but still rather 'nice'."
Grace and Mercy by Immanuel Wilkins -

"I think that there is just time nip into the garden to to beat the hosepipe ban..."
"Hi folks. Hope you're all well. I've spent this week catching up after an amazing 4 days of sailing around the Isles of Scilly on Happy Return, a 120 year old ex pilchard lugger. She was built in Porthleven (Cornwall) but found in a sorry state in Maldon in 2002 and restored over several years. Slept on deck all 3 nights, nodding off looking at the stars while being rocked in the waves was magical.
Thanks for the FIAF filler, Tim and thanks to the ace RPM collective for all their choices last week, especially those inspired by FIAF - not the same as being there in person but a pretty good alternative.
My 3 this week are just 'cos..."
NW1 by Men an Tol - "Tim - have a feeling I included this track previously; this is a different version at least..."
("Week 1 - Friday 3rd January 2025, to be precise." Tim the Archivist)
Boudicca by Mali Haf -

"Have a great weekend folks.
Cheers!"
"Here's a selection from my musical world this week."
Yorkshire Belle by Skinny Lister - "Another track from the new album; our Dan, vocalist, guitarist and songwriter, hailing from Brid."
Bob Tailed Mule performed by Cary Moskovitz - "I came across Cary quite by chance whilst researching playing trad tunes on harmonica. He has an album of American Old Time tunes available entitled North Carolina Breakdown, downloadable via Bandcamp. I've listened to it a lot this week and hugely enjoyable it is as well, but no tracks from it on Youtube....so here's a live performance."
Jigging In The Rigging by Aartwork - "Still playing their Going With The Flow CD, acquired at FIAF...which I now see is an amalgamation of a couple of their EPs. Great car driving music and currently my soundtrack on jaunts to York and back."
'Til Next Time...
